I have listened to this a few times. Very up lifting...do not give up!
Ms Ross reads this very well. Linda Howard's After the Night. All time best.
she does them all so well. My favorite reader, then Gabra Zackman
the bank vault of course
Enjoy a great listen
great use of deductive reasoning and good fast dialogue. This is listed under romance and is not what most core romance readers/listeners seek. This is a good example of good christian faith woven into a mystery/ FBI story.
I have not finished the book as write, but I hope to finish this book. The dialogue is that good for the mystry portion . I have hit the heavy faith portion author has woven into the story, and with all due respect, I feel the dialogue should be in the Christian or family listings. Tastfully done, but not appropriate or stated in the publishers synopsis.
I liked his reading style. Fast pace which made up for any other criticisms I may have of the editing. This should have been posted under Christian genre.
this author is a very talented writer, but her books are in the wrong section and not for me.
This was part of BOGO sale and I did not read the reviews before selecting. Both choices seem a bit on the outside of my usual buys. Overall I can't say I was pleased with the selections! I know audible wants its listeners to expand their reading scope, but if I wanted a Christian listen, I would have gone to that section. Audible please take note.
Great use of cute dialogue NR can do in her series books. This is a simple story, nothing deep, but if you know her series books, this one is NOT to be missed. NR does use curse words in this one so if that does not offend, this was a wonderful use of her imagination pulling her other good series together in a new one.
If you are a long time fan of NR series: The blue dahlia kid slaves, Seaswept dog and brothers, Heaven and Earth and Dance upon the Air women. Wonderful dialogue not to be missed. Yes, there is the some slow dialogue NR uses when she starts to describe areas, but she did that in these other books too. This book was GREAT if you are a fan of the other series named.
when Ryder is asked to "Go With it" and he requests pie for his reward.
This brought back good memories of those books named. I purchase this one first as Ryder was so appealing. I LOVE MacLoud Andrews and had looked for more of his work after Robert Crasis book he read. He has a wonderful reading technique and his female and kids voices are good.
If you are looking for NR main stream type of book, this is not it! This is a warm story, with lots of descriptions as NR can write, and lots of cute dialogue you have to be in the mood for. Enjoy
Sexy, testy, determined. This is a simple story, nothing too deep. If deep is what you want, this is not it. This is a romance!
For those readers who are not familiar with this long time good author, she is a core romance writer who will give you a good story. Now if you want a true mystery, then this genre is not for you. There will be some stories that may give you more of a mystery than heat, but do not be disappointed if there is not as it is still a romance catagory.
I love MacLeod Andrews and this is my first CC listen. I own hundreds of audios and she is an AKA of another listen...she is good in this one. She could have read faster in the first 4 chapters, but that is because listeners want the mystery to unfold faster. This story is not about a mystery but the connection between two people who have an unfinished history. I have a couple of other listens to hear from each of these readers and I look forward to them. I will have to figure out what AKA name CC goes under as her male voice is familar.
I did as it was good and I am a long time fan of KR. Try One Summer if you like this one, that is a classic of KR and is recorded by the late great Anna Fields.
I was happily surprised at this book.
these are classic 80's books recorded by Dreamscape. Beware if you are not of fan of LH older books, read the reviews first. These books are written in the older classic male dominance style. If you are a modern woman and can not abide weak female roles as written in the 80's, then these are not for you. I loved the books and have awaited them on audio for years. I am a strong person and realize these books are core romance and can enjoy them for how they were written back in the day. Not a tattoo onsite.
All That Glitters, Midnight..., Diamond Bay. All 80's style.
She is ok for female role, but these older LH reads must be done by readers who can do a strong male voice as they carry the story. Natalie ross or Karen White can get the job done.
Brenda Sweeney was awful and I skipped preferring to read the classic.
these older core romances are true happily ever after stories of woman who over come their situation and our hero turns tender and loving after some hard core dialogue.
Of the 10 KC books I own, this is # 1. Lots of fast dialogue that makes you laugh and get sad too. When you don't want it to end, then it goes to the top.
KC really out did herself on this one. Gads that lady must read all the reviews and knows what her readers want. In this book KC mixes the characters and story very well. Other authors should take note. All the characters were great in this one. Young Thad will break your heart. Our heroine, is my favorite due to her sass and strength!
This man can read a phone book and make it sound great. He can make each character so real to you. This one is not to be missed!
Listen in part 1 when Nix talks into the car bug! I burst out laughing and had a belly laugh.
If you only try one in this series, start with this one. Yes it is not book# 1, but you will get a taste of what everyone is raving about. Author knows how to weave stories so they are linked but can stand alone. You will end up buying most if not all of the 14 books as they draw you in. I have read all out of order and they were all well done, some more than others, but none disappoint that you would stop the series.
Yes, but I am a long time fan of E.L. 1988'ish work. I no long purchase her newer work as they do not appeal to me. I own hard bound all her old classics and have waited for these classic to be recorded.
This is an old fashion core romance of the 80's, which I love. EL wrote a few which I pull out every few years an re read. My all time fave, too hot to handle will make you cry and know inner strength will overcome all. You must like hard core heros who in the end fall head over heels for the heroine, or this book is not for you.
I wanted this story and since it was not read by my Do Not Buy reader, laural merlington, I took a chance on this very expensive reader. I looked her up and she is not worth the money she got for it. Note: she was not bad, but $25.00 or a full credit was too much. She didn't take away from this listen, but she is no way on my want to get more listens list. she was good enough that I will listen again to this great book. Jonathan Davis, Sandra browns new reader is to die for! EL has not gotten a decent reader and she could get so much more work purchased if she did her homework. we Listeners are in for the reader. Look at kresley cole and see her reviews.
Of course as it is only 5 hrs long. This is a core romance classic, which you must love or you will be disappointed if you use a credit.
One of my all time fave, tell me no lies is abridged and I do not buy any abridged stories. If you are an EL fan of her older books, then this is a must buy. my other fave, beautiful dreamer was originally published as valley of the sun. This is read by one of my least fave readers, Laural merlington who I will not buy any more no matter what old fave of mine she reads.
yes, short, sweet and to the point. it does not go on forever, but gives you enough to help you build your own solutions
short, good and make a quick point
she does this type of read very well
rule #1, 2, and 10
I have chanted all the rules everyday since I downloaded and boy, it has helped already . Yes, it is work to make a plan for each rule, so by chanting, I at least start will all the clues of a good life everyday. The plan will come if you are a get it done person. If you procrastinate, not so sure.
K.C. tells a tale with humor and wit. If you do not like a series that gabs you from the first but continues to pull you back even more as the series increases, don't start this one. I did not start with book #1, so you can buy what ever story looks interesting to you. Hint: the latter stories, i.e. Bowen get really good and just hold you for the listening time. I have gone back to the early books but only after listening to the mostly current release. Not every book holds the same formula, so you can be assured of a good buy.
The stories do develop enough so you know that future books are coming, but you do not know which character KC will showcase. I have listen to the Lycan family ones and Lotheaire, and I found that they tell enough of the last story to fill in some details to make the current story good. Yes, there is an order so if that is important follow it. This story is about focus and sacrifice and with the use of such imagination. Think 7 cities of gold
Gads, this man is great in this series as all the other reviewers state. He makes all the heroes yummy and he gives an inflection to the females to hold your interest. A must is Regan's story
you have to pay attention to the very last chapter as it brings forth the next adventure cleverly.
Yes, great funny dialogue. Very refreshing & a fun listen. I have not heard a story that has this an inventive & cleaver dialogue in a long time. If you listen to fantasy or sci-fi, then you may have more exposure. This is not a bodice ripper, but a cleaverely told story of magic. If you are looking for hot romance, this is not it. More of an antiscipation of it.
Cleaver use of imagination with a lot of fun penciled in. Characters like "Snark" are fun and there are muiltiple other characters to add to the story
Yes plenty! She has so many AKA names, Sophie Eastlake, but she reads faster as Erin Mallon and this name. Her faster reads are much better. Her male voice could be deeper, but she knows how to give a sexy inflection to her male voices, so you do not mind.
So much laughter, but you must be in the mood to listen and get it. The dialogue is distilled and fast past.
I have not purchased more of this author but have them in my wish list.
Ms Susan needs to re read It Had to Be You, which got her on the front page of the wall street journal when she first published it. This was a waste of my valuable listening time. I got to chapter 9 and just had to quit. It just was not getting better. I had hoped the other reviewers were not wrong.
Ms Susan used Breathing room and This heart of Mine to make up this awful story. It was like her first novels Glitter baby which were wordy and boring.
Nope. She did Ok in the Four Horseman series, but that was because the books were well written. She can not make up for a poorly written story. She read this story very slowly and I kept speeding it up, which told me to stop wasting valuable time. I have so many I have purchased yet to be listened to and enjoy
it was boring and a disappointment. I own all of ms phillips work read by the late great Anna Fields aka Kate Fleming. They will NOT disappoint you. Her new readers have been a disaster and her writing is not good in the last 3 books. She was an auto download, but no more.
