An inexplicable explosion rocks the antiquities collection of a London museum and the race begins to determine how it happened, why it happened, and what it means. Lady Kara Kensington's family paid a high price in money and blood to found the gallery that now lies in ruins. Her search for answers leads Kara and her friend Safia al-Maaz, the gallery's curator, into a world they never dreamed existed.

This guy couldn't write himself out of a box. The language is crap, no character development. The book listens like a really, really bad PG-13 action movie. Every single character is a cliche. The whole book is full of cliches. I'm pissed I wasted a credit on this book.

It is not long before the survivors, outlaws, renegades, and carrion eaters start to gather, picking over the bones of the dead and fighting for the spoils of the soon-to-be dead. Now in the Seven Kingdoms, as the human crows assemble over a banquet of ashes, daring new plots and dangerous new alliances are formed, while surprising faces, some familiar, others only just appearing, are seen emerging from an ominous twilight of past struggles and chaos to take up the challenges ahead.

The voice actor is the worst. He is melodramatic and reads everything with the same cadence. This book needs to be redone by Roy Dotrice. You can't even tell when the characters change because he does everything the exact same way.
