I was in the mood for something light and steamy when I downloaded this and it definently delivered. I don't usually find things to do so I can listen to more of the story but this time I found myself doing just that. This isn't very romantic in the normal sense of the genre, but there is plenty of sexual tension. The main character did take some getting used to, but she eventually developed into a heroine that I'm dying to know what happened to.
Unfortunately I read some of the other reviews so part of the story was ruined for me, but I'm still downloading the next edition.
If you want something you don't have to pay strict attention to, but still contains a mystery, I would recommend this title.
The narrator doesn't really do the scottish burrs or the female voices very well but I was able to enjoy the story despite it. Typical historical romance but a tad cheesy even for this genre at the end but I would probably listen to it a second time for something fun and light.
It started out a little slow but picked up towards the end. Although unfortunately it was predictable towards the end. I usually don't enjoy witches and spells but this wasn't over done with some well written historical scenes mixed in.
Excellent storyline and plot twist. You could just see it coming but, no, it is something else. Excellent scenery description, including the feeling of the time. No holds barred description of life as it was at that time in Rome and Venice. Great book.
