I have to admit I had just listened to Shannon Hale's The Goose Girl. A fun fantasy stories too I might add. After a couple of weeks I couldn't remember which plot was which. I disagree that this is an over used plot, however. Most stories are similar in plot. It's the fun twist of the plot an author creates that makes it interesting. Scott Card has a brilliance in turning a plot and spinning a yarn to a fun twisted way. And he did it again. I found it very entertaining.
The ending was disappointing. Left me with a “What, that’s it?" kind of feeling.
It does have some good insights into bullies and those who are bullied. The high school experience rings to close to home. It could help teenagers recognize that what they say and do effects those around them. Which could come back to haunt them in unexpected ways.
I always have enjoyed Vince Flynn I have downloaded and listened to all of them. this was one I downloaded in abridged format so I bought the unabridged version. there is a lot more to the story. However I must say I would hate to think the plot line was accepted as a plausible reality. Killing politicians to overthrow the government? sounds like a dictatorial plot to me. This was a fun book to listen to just don't get to serious about the plot. I like science fiction with implausible plots too. I just don't take them too seriously.
I have all i can get from Audible
shooting flairs at marine one
It was a fun book
The events of how the women survived in war torn Berlin must have some great material for stories. I would be interested in hearing more of those stories. I could not get past the third chapter. This one was told in a slow monotonous, and depressing tone.
Let me get this straight we have 14 year old boys in a Catholic boarding school next to a girl???s Catholic boarding school bullying and stealing drugs then selling them to 14 year old girls for sexual favors and with date rape motives. Not to mention the graphic detailing of porn sites no one would want to ever get caught visiting. All of this under the guise of that???s what 14 year old kids with raging hormones are thinking and doing. This is not even a fun book to listen to.
This was a disappointing book. Too many times the real Jason Borne would have seen it coming. When he gets off a plain and finds three people killed less than 100 yard from the plane and he know they were killed by his nemesis I just can see him getting back on the plane and taking a nap with his new true love and his mentor with him on the plane. The borne I know would search the plane and confront his villain.
I'm not a prude but although this was a cute story the language hurt my ears. If you've become totally desensitized to fowl language you'll enjoy the listen.
I really enjoyed all of the characters Smithson meets in his quest. The book made me want to get of my old fat butt and put some miles on my bike.
This is a fun story not to be taken for anything more than entertainment value but it is a good road trip story
