Seventeen seconds can change a life forever. This is what Rex Connor learned on a gorgeous summer afternoon in 1970 when, as a lifeguard, he diverted his gaze for 17 seconds and tragedy occurred. Forty years later the waves of that day still ripple through the lives of countless people, including his son, Cole.

I am will look for more of Hoppe's recordings as this one was a 10.

If you could rename The Seventeen Second Miracle, what would you call it?

    Never ever ever Give Up.

    Any additional comments?

Absolutely the best book this year I have read. If I do something kind for one person, this book made a difference in this world. Most books can not begin to claim that. PERIOD.

When Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community..

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

If this book had used another narrator other than a ladies voice for both parts - you might have had a winner.

What was most disappointing about Nicholas Sparks’s story?

I didnt even listen to the next part because of the horrible male voice the narrator was trying to portray.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Rebecca Lowman?

No problem with her in the female part - it was the male part that was a complete turn off and more importantly i hit the stop buttom on my ipad.

What character would you cut from Safe Haven?

    The narrator

    Any additional comments?

Horrible job - on this book ... when others have been so pleasant to listen to

Her visions have helped solve crimes; her instincts have helped find missing people; she can predict future events and sense your thoughts. These are some of the extraordinary gifts that define the remarkable Allison DuBois, the real-life medium, wife, and mother whose life is the inspiration for the hit NBC television series Medium.

    Overall

Watching her on TV make a complete fool of herself, I don't think I could possibly believe anything in her books. So said I spent the money and more sad I believed her, she is one great actress. And to add to the punch bowl, not a very nice lady with a horrible mouth.

Why are boys so different? Why would a trip to the garbage dump be such a highlight in a boy's life? What do boys need to learn in order to become good men? A mother's influence on her sons is unique and valuable, but still sometimes moms don't understand what makes their boys tick. They want to help their sons grow up to become men of honor and integrity, but that's a tremendous challenge.

Kim says: "Not what I was looking for."
"Did this help me understand my son .... Sadly Not!"
    Overall

Waited until i had the money to purchase this book of which it was on my to do list. Such a disappointment. I think many authors want to read and in this case listen to themselves - and then say ... boy that was really good! Kind of a pat on the back book - a book of my wife and I, my kids, just didn't hit the spot

Tony Dungy's words and example have intrigued millions of people, particularly following his victory in Super Bowl XLI, the first for an African American coach. How is it possible for anyone to be successful without compromising faith and family? In this inspiring and reflective memoir, Coach Dungy tells the story of a life lived for God and family - and challenges us all to redefine our ideas of what it means to succeed.

    Overall

If you are GREAT DUNGY FAN...this might be your cup of tea. If not...get ready for it to put you to sleep. For me it drove me crazy listening to it.

It is so dry and bla bla bla - Dungy reads it and it is like his personality (quite and dry)

    For me waste of money.
