This author is an extreme liberal with personal political rants. This is a self published, self recorded by the author who goes off on tangents of political opinion with very little substance. This is such a low budget recording, which had a lot of hiss, squeaking doors and clearing of his throat it is almost laughable. It was not till after ten hours of listening that I started learning anything and found his information to be very generalized. Did I get some ideas? Yes. Could I get the same elsewhere, yes and I did with more detail. This in my opinion was a total waste of my money and time. I cannot recommend this to anyone.

A terrifying near-future medical thriller debut from a prominent doctor. Ali O’ Day, a dedicated young neurosurgeon, might have a Nobel Prize in her future—if she can survive the next eleven hours. Under the glare of live television cameras—and with her lover, Dr. Richard Helvelius, and her estranged husband, Kevin, both looking on—Ali is about to implant a revolutionary minicomputer into the brain of a blind boy. If it works, he will see again. But someone wants to stop her triumph. No sooner has she begun to operate than the hospital pagers crackle with the chilling announcement, “Code White.” A bomb has been found in the medical center. But this is no ordinary bomb—and no ordinary bomber. As minutes tick off toward the deadline, Ali suspects that a vast, inhuman intellect lies behind the plot—and that she herself may be the true ransom demand.

I found it boring and non plausible. I will really have to think hard before listening to another by this author or any other narrated by this individual.

Sorry, but after an hour and half I would expect to be hooked. I wasn't, I just could not do it any more, that is listen to the story or story teller. I was totally bored with it all. I am sorry I wasted a credit on this one. Wish there was some way of returning it.

With each breathtaking, New York Times best-selling entry in her acclaimed Anna Pigeon mystery series, author Nevada Barr earns more and more fans. Loaded with intrigue and adventure, High Country showcases Barr at the top of her game. Anna is lodged in Yosemite National Park's historic Ahwahnee Hotel when four employees disappear. Sensing evil, Anna hikes a snowy trail to the high country, only to discover a disturbing reality that may end her adventures once and for all.

I purchased this book through Audible because it was featured and on sale. I thought it would be an opportunity to experience a new, to me, author. What a shame. Because of the narration and the melodramatic reading and descriptions I could not finish it. It was so Jr. High Schoohish. Because of this first experience I will not purchase anything by Nevada Barr or anything being narrated by Barbara Rosenblat. What a waste of money. I will be more carefull with anything featured or on sale thinking they have to dispose of inventory.
