  • Finding Your Sacred Contract

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 30 mins)
    • By Caroline Myss
    • Narrated By Caroline Myss

This workshop, recorded live in Chicago, Illinois, focuses on how to find your life's mission, or "Sacred Contract." By coming to know your mission, you can live your life in a way that makes best use of your energy. Finding out where you invest your energetic currency can show you how to manage your power as opposed to being managed by it.

    Gene says: "Visual required"
    "One of my favorite"

I know they couldn't see the charts she was demonstrating, but I think she presents best in front of an audience. A great listen for those who are already familar with her work...chakras - energy - etc.

  • Creating Affluence

    • UNABRIDGED (55 mins)
    • By Deepak Chopra
    • Narrated By Deepak Chopra

The precursor to The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, this book explores the full meaning of "wealth consciousness" with clear and simple wisdom. According to author Deepak Chopra, "Affluence includes money but is not just money.

    Lyn says: "Keeps Getting Better!"
"not the slam dunk I'm used to"

Yes, this is a cheep short book. I thought it would be fun. I'm a big fan of Dr. Chopra, but this isn't a very good book. Most of this information can be found in other books of his. He basically goes through the alphabet and lists terms that if you embrace will create affuence.... like A stands for ... B stands for...C stands for. If you want to buy your first Chopra audiobook I would recommend "Peace is the Way"

  • Christ the Lord: Out of Egypt

    • UNABRIDGED (9 hrs and 13 mins)
    • By Anne Rice
    • Narrated By Josh Heine
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

Having completed the two cycles of legend to which she has devoted her career so far, Anne Rice gives us now her most ambitious and courageous book, a novel about the early years of Christ the Lord, based on the Gospels and on the most respected New Testament scholarship.

    R. Moore says: "A tad short of excellent"
"my new-age pagan heart adored this book"

If you have a general angst against Christianity you may not be able to enjoy this book. However, I do believe anyone on a spiritual path can appreciate all this book has to offer. It does not preach or recruit, or try to "save" anybody. It simply puts a different spin on a story that most are already familiar with. I have always thought it a pitty that most dramatic stories about Christ are about how he was murdered, and completely miss the point that his death is only significant because of his life. However, if you aren't interested in all the historical information in this book, then it may bore you. This book is not for everybody.

  • French Women Don't Get Fat: The Secret of Eating for Pleasure

    • ABRIDGED (3 hrs and 22 mins)
    • By Mireille Guiliano
    • Narrated By Mireille Guiliano

French women don't get fat, but they do eat bread and pastry, drink wine, and regularly enjoy three-course meals. In her delightful tale, Mireille Guiliano unlocks the simple secrets of this "French paradox"; how to enjoy food and stay slim and healthy. Hers is a charming, sensible, and powerfully life-affirming view of health and eating for our times.

    Melissa says: "Enjoyable Listen"
    "Chunky Americans will love this"

I have never felt good about diet philosophies or the culture of deprivation and guilt that we American women punish ourselves with. This book is about changing your brain first, then your body second. It is beautiful. I bought it 5 days ago and have already listened to it twice.

  • Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim

    • UNABRIDGED (6 hrs and 8 mins)
    • By David Sedaris
    • Narrated By David Sedaris
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

In his newest collection of essays, David Sedaris lifts the corner of ordinary life, revealing the absurdity teeming below its surface. His world is alive with obscure desires and hidden motives, a world where forgiveness is automatic and an argument can be the highest form of love. Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim is another unforgettable collection from one of the wittiest and most original writers at work today.

    FanB14 says: "Read on...Hilarity Ensues"

This is the first of his books that I have read, and I plan to read more. A few of the stories are live recordings, and they seem to be even funnier because something is added when he has an audience. The next I read will be live. This is great for us heterosexuals who love our homosexual brothers and sisters. It brings insight into that world.... the drama and the hilarity.

  • The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love

    • UNABRIDGED (4 hrs and 56 mins)
    • By Jill Conner Browne
    • Narrated By Jill Conner Browne
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

To know the Sweet Potato Queens is to love them, and if you haven't heard about them yet, you will. Their royal ringleader, Jill Conner Browne, introduces the Queens to the world with this sly, hilarious manifesto about love, life, men, and the importance of being prepared. For more wit and wisdom, don't miss The Sweet Potato Queens' Big-Ass Audiobook and Financial Planner.

Linda says: "Forget the Ya-Ya Sisterhood"
"The only self help book you ever need"

Yeah, she isn't the best reader in this audiobook, but in her other books her reading is much better, like she isn't sorry about any of it. I actually read this one after the financial planner one, so I was already hooked. Definately quotable! If your a fan of self help books, then try and take a break with this one, because if you were not confident before you started reading this book, then you will be.
