As a result of a series that was losing momentum, this book attempts to recapture the reader's interest by bringing together a lot twists and resolving them somewhat by the end of the book. Not to give anything away, but this book does give insight into the others and does answer quite a few of the more confusing questions. Can't speak for everyone but the series was getting a bit confusing to me.
I love Sinclair, although the narrator's voice for him is a bit corny. Keep in mind that Betsy has a pretty foul mouth in this book especially!
Nancy Wu is a great Betsy.
Just say YES!
Which is best: Janet Evanovich's Ranger Manoso or Darynda Jones' Reyes Farrow?
Readers of the Stephanie Plum series will NOT want to miss this series.
Lorelei King is one of the best narrators I have listened too. Her ability to bring the characters to life and make them seem so real enhances the whole experience of listening to one of the books she performs. This particular series has all the necessary components to keep the reader coming back: A fantastic main character, a hot leading man, a wacky component (in that Charlie is the Grim Reaper) and a ton of humor that makes you laugh out loud!
A fascinating series, this installment had it all. There's intrigue, suspense, intense emotion and satisfying surprises. The characters are all entertaining.
There's a point where Seth and Georgina recognize that they were centuries old lovers and keep running across each other in time. At this point, there's a sequence of events that makes the rest of the story so intense that you can't stop listening!
The emotions of the characters draw the listening into the story, unable to hit pause as the complex plot is professionally unwound and painstakingly detailed.
Johanna Parker did a fantastic job with the series. The books are very different from the TV show on HBO. The books are better than the series.
Charlaine Harris is a wonderful writer, with a fantastic imagination. She created a series that has really taken off and will continue to be entertaining even after this final book.
Dead Ever After makes you wonder what happened next in the world of Sookie Stackhouse. Happy to hear that Charlaine Harris thought about that and is giving us book that will tell us what happens.
The story draws the listener into a lot of emotions that Anna Strong experiences. I actually found myself laughing out loud and even crying a time or two. As the next in the saga, I enjoyed how J.C. Stein continued from the last book to this one. She also left the reader wondering what would happen next in book 10. The whole premise of being the Chosen One is still a bit foggy. Am hoping that the next book brings it all together.
You have to love Daniel Fry. Ms. Pearlman's vocal talent is impressive when it comes to the male characters.
Not sure that this storyline would carry over to the big screen with the same level of satisfaction you get from reading or listening to the story.
Lorelei King makes the entire series a winner. The whole concept of the Grim Reaper hooking up with the son of Satan is fantastic!
This particular installment was full of twists and turns as well as intense emotions. Darynda Jones has really come through on this one!
Lorelei KIng gives voice to the character of Reyes Farrow, and what a voice it is. The depth of the character comes through so clearly. This installment in the series leaves you wanting the next one immediately!
Not to spoil the ending but that was pretty intense!
The series seemed to start out a bit slow, but the plot is similar to the Darynda Jones series and a few others so I stuck it out. I actually enjoyed the story, but thought it would have been better with a different narrator. A witch who has "grave sight" and can see soul collectors is just beggging to take part in some interesting mysteries. Luckily, Kalayna Price plays along with the idea.
I love that "Death" becomes a character in the story. Actually a being called a soul collector, Death has visited Alex Kraft, our heroine, for most of her life. Once she grew up, she began to understand who and what he was. For Darynda Jones fans, think of Reyes Farrow.
At first the narrator seemed to lack energy in the performance, but as the story progressed, I became accustomerd to her reading.
The storyline is definitely entertaining and it leaves listener wanting to know what happens next. Luckily, Grave Dance was also on sale. I bought both books at the same time and haven't regretted that decision!
A younger Charlie Davidson series, only in reverse?
Love that the main character is named after the narrator! Concidence, I think not! Love the characters.... from Cameron to Glitch, the guys are a lot of
fun. Lorelei and Brook are very much like Charlie and Cookie, only in reverse. There's an innocence in these characters that is really refreshing.
Because of Lorelei's portrayal of Reyes Farrow, the listener is going to be drawn to Jared.
There are several high points in the story that are compelling, but not overly emotional.
Definitey entertaining and worth the listen... the time flew by and I still wanted more:)
There are many laugh out loud moments in the series and this latest installment does not disappoint from that standpoint. If you are seeking the answer to that ultimate question: Cupcake or Babe.. keep looking.
Lorelei King's performances of Lula and Grandma Mazur just can't be beat.
Janet Evanovich is great at leaving the reader wanting more. This series is not ready to end as the characters still have much to tell us. Ranger is becoming more accessible and Joe more tolerant. How can a girl choose?
A fan of Lorelei King/Darynda Jones combination, this installment is sometimes laugh out loud funny. Charlie just can't seem to take anything seriously, except maybe Reyes Farrow. Unfortunately for her, though, her supernatural reality keeps ripping her away from the land of Denial. With the help of just about every character Ms. Jones has introduced to date, Charlie fights evil wherever she finds it. Of course, at the end, you simply want more!
The reader gets to see a new side of Reyes Farrow and it does not disappoint!
Won't spoil the ending, but I bet it will be every reader's favorite scene!
I started to listen, but the change in narrator ruined it for me and I ended up returning the book. I love the series, but you have to keep the narrator consistent!
Kim Harrison is very imaginative and the books are fund to listen to!
The narrator ruined the story. Ms. Gavin is the best for this series!
