It's surprising the shots that Colbert takes at Bush while Bush and his people are in the room but not as funny as I expected.
Probably not. I like my fiction to be somewhat uplifting. That isn't to say that I can't read a book that takes place in a dark time (e.g. the holocaust) but the story itself can still have an uplifting feel to it. I found this book to be too depressing for my liking.
It made me sad and kind of depressed.
The narrator was fantastic and despite my not liking the depressing tone to the novel, I can't deny that Markus Zusak is a talented writer and Allan Corduner is a great narrator.
yes and no. I really enjoyed the writing, I just wish there was more of a mix of positive and negative outcomes and not quite so much of the latter.
If you set your expectations for a 5 hour short informative and somewhat entertaining history of Amazon, you won't be disappointed. At 5 hours, don't expect a ton of detail but there's enough to give you a decent idea of how the company evolved.
I found it easy listening.
The insights into Bezos. I would love to read a full biography on him.
The descriptions of what a small company Amazon started out as even after they were getting a decent amount of business.
I would change the narrator, the narrator and the narrator. He is so bad especially compared to the George Guidall.
Not a chance in hell
Mitch Rapp's next mission should be to kill the narrator.
Great book, one of my handful of favourites so far
While being a true story with incredible insight into "living in the projects", the story is captivating and as good or better than fiction.
There are some reviews that criticize the narrator. I disagree. I thought the narrator did a good job at bringing out some of the different personalities and characters.
Highly recommend this book especially if you like to get a little education while reading something enjoyable.
While this book is one of his older ones, i'd heard it was a good one and the reviews didn't lie. It's great story telling!
Started off a bit slow but just kept getting better so that I didn't want it to end. It's primarily focused on female characters so at first I felt it was "Chick Lit" but it was written so well that I quickly got over that.
I had high expectations for this book and while it was good action and writing, it didn't live up to my expectations. Compared to some Nelson Demille books, this comes out good but a little flat. Perhaps if my expectations weren't so high...
I enjoyed this book a lot because it gave me good insight into the personalities of the "major players" for the 2008 election.
It's a good read, not quite a 5 out of 5, but at least a 4 out of 5.
There are some plot holes and the writing style isn't great but I really enjoyed the concepts. The authors have inspiring imaginations.
When it comes to audiobooks, there's two things that matter: the book itself and the audio presentation. This book excels at both. The book is deservedly an all-time sci-fi classic and the presentation uses multiple narrators, music and sounds. It feels like you're listening to a movie.
I'd recommend this book to anyone looking for a very enjoyable "read"!
