"Kathy is brains and a gifted author."
Interesting, educational and bizarre
Tempe - she is a character that women can relate to and/or look up to. Smart, sense of humor and yet still has common problems, I love it when a character is human!
Bland, even toned and ok.
Kathy Reich's gives her all in each book/story she tells. You never finish a book without learning something(s) new or craving more.
"Best listen!"
The characters. No doubt about it. Bobby Cannavale breathes life into the already amazing characters in these books
The realistic way you can feel the flow and recognize this could be real. It makes this book captivating.
Yes and as always - they are great. Well cast voices. They give inflection, panic, excitement, feeling, and Bobby makes me laugh, smile and even cry. I think he's fantastic.
I highly recommend this book. Even if its your first in this series, you will love the listen and you will be hooked.
"It ok, only ok."
Liked: familiar series.. Least: overly silly.
A REAL person from New Jersey because there is a specific attitude and accent that the Stephanie Plum series claims to have.
No
Such a boring listen. Very difficult to stay interested. So much better to read because the narrator is like an assault on my ears!
"Wow, not what I expected."
I have no idea. I am easily entertained and easy going so I usually enjoy even "less than average" movies and books but this... Ugh, it's horrifically boring to the point of going cross eyed. I recommend it to lull you to sleep or to bore enemies to death.
Nope. I stupidly bought both books in this series. Yup, should have waited but the reviews were good and I wanted to have a fluid link in listening to them. But the answer is NO, we do not see eye to eye in literature at all.
Smooth. Gentle. Nice.
Nope.
If you like long, historical, yet not historical, boring goop put into 10+ hours of listening - go for it. But don't expect Harry Potter, laughs, relatable subjects or a connection. Won't happen. Not even a great imagination could have fun with this heap of boring.
"Absolutely fantastic in every way!"
Definitely, in fact, I plan on listening to it tonight. I am putting off another book to take this trip again with Mike because it is that good!
The Teacher's twist at the end. It was like being an audio-adrenaline junky and getting a fix.
Mike Bennett is obvious. His part is read to perfection and I can't imagine anyone else even trying to read his character. But safely, the Teacher is read with serious eeriness and you get all the creepy acting in just the voice of the part being read. Talk about giving life to pages. Between these 2 men, they are excellent and truly found their calling in being the voice for such great characters.
This book is a "must-listen"! You cannot believe just how quickly you are swept away and how amazing the writing is. I have listened to many audiobooks over the years but none as exciting as this one. I didn't want to stop listening and often found excuses to put on my headphones for even 10 minutes. You'll love this book.
"Gentle wonderful listen"
I loved just how immediately hooked I was. This is definitely not my type of book but between the narration and the wonderful story, I thought it was perfect. I loved Harold because he seemed so familiar.
Harold was a dear. He was easily your grandfather, your great uncle or a senior you might remember as a child. Jim gave Harold a mind, body and soul that you wanted to follow and that made you like him.
Harold walked away from a life and found his.
This book is gentle, easy to enjoy and is a good listen for anyone.
"I was transported back in time."
Historical, brilliant and beautiful.
You just can't, this is world apart from other written works to start. At least in my experience.
The narrator is perfection and brings this book to life. Everyone know GWTW is a masterpiece but with the perfect narrator, you have historic gold that creates a brilliant movie in your mind as you listen. I have seen GWTW several times and love it dearly but the author and narrator give the gift of imagination and education to you.
"Excellent book, horrific narration"
This is the worst narration possible. Excellent to read but this woman narrator is the worst.
Seriously, she belches and sounds like she is chewing gum and gurgling water while reading. I was nauseous listening. Kathy has written an excellent book but you want earplugs to listen to this. I want my money back for this one!
"A must for anyone who enjoys mystery thrillers"
Absolutely. The Bosch series is spot on entertainment and the narrator feels like he is the character. That is the best because Harry Bosch novels are gritty and well researched so you feel like you are part of this world, following Bosch.
He brings the voice, the tempo and the surreal feeling you are actually listening to the teal Harry Bosch.
"Great story, very creative."
Smart, emotional and well done. I know Kathy draws off personal experiences and that is why truth is stranger than fiction and thankfully she gives us both. Always keeps you thinking.
The emotional ending. Yes, I cried again. I found myself excited to find time to listen. I love that!
Tempe. She did great.
Good narration and a great book - what can be better?
