"Boring - could be re-written in one chapter"
The title is exciting and the first chapter paints a good introduction into life in the 1660s but thereafter it is very, very slow. The info is repeated and reads like an advert for the Royal Society.
"Fortune Cookie"
Once again Bryce Courtenay does it. A well researched, attention grabbing book expertly read by Humphrey Bower. Mr Bower turns a 4star book into 5 star listening.
"Wrack - Slow moving"
Full of facts but very slow moving.
"Assegai - A true African Safari Adventure"
As I live in Africa, I can vouch for his knowledge of animals, the veld, koppies and the feel of Africa. He captures the harshness of the terrain and the history of the region and Southern Africa. - A truly great book
