Best-selling author Jeffrey Zaslow is a Will Rogers Humanitarian Award winner and was the replacement advice columnist for Ann Landers in the Chicago Sun-Times. Here he turns his eye to a group of 11 friends who grew up in Ames, Iowa, during the 1960s, a period of unprecedented opportunity for women. What emerges is an inspiring look at the power of friendship to overcome challenges.

I loved The Last Lecture and my sister said I would like this. She read the book. Might be better that way but the reader certainly did nothing at all to bring the book to life. I think she actually brought the book down several notces. I will get the book from my local library and give it another try.

Grady Adams lives a simple, solitary life deep in the Colorado mountains. Here the 35-year-old carpenter works out of a converted barn, crafting exquisite one-of-a-kind furniture. There's little about this strong yet gentle man to suggest the experiences that have alienated him from the contemporary world. But that is about to change.

Started out interestingly enough but then introduced several undeveloped characters with their own undeveloped stories that never connected with the main story. Can't quite understand what Mr. Koontz was trying to do. This book was not worth the download.

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

I am 7 hrs into this book and while the story is dragging a bit I think (hope) it will get better -- IF -- I can get past the reader and finish the book. The accents are terrible and the reader often sounds very bored with his job and sounds like a gay valley-boy. Who chose this guy? Stephen King require your agent to have some influence in the choice of readers!
