I really enjoyed this one. I'm not a huge fan of Highland Romance novels and was a little nervous about this book being set in Scotland. Thankfully it was nothing like I expected and I now understand the allure of the Scottish hero. I really fell for Braden. This book is definitely smexy! Well worth a credit and then some.
This is such a hard review for me to write since I really can’t explain why I kept listening to this one. I think I have a love/hate relationship with this book. There were so many things I didn’t like about the main character and many of her choices/actions were unrealistic for someone her age. I usually don’t have an issue with suspending my belief when it comes to paranormal romance but I struggled with this one. All the negative comments aside, I just couldn’t stop listening to this one. What was it about this book?? I suppose I really enjoyed the mystery and just had to know everyone’s deep dark secrets. Although not all the secrets were revealed in this book. I’m sure I will purchase the next one because the price is right and I apparently need some answers.
I’ve enjoyed all the books in this series but Origins is by far the best one yet.
After that gut-wrenching cliffhanger in Opal, I was a little hesitant to dive into this one. It’s a game changer for sure and will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat. Without giving away too many details, this one felt like two stories in one. The first being Katy’s experience as a prisoner by Daedalus and the second the future of the Luxen race and the big reveal (the game changer). The dual POV was a nice addition to this series as well. I really enjoyed getting into Daemon’s head in this one. There’s another cliffhanger with Origins but thankfully it won’t rip your heart out like Opal did. I can’t wait to listen to the final installment of this fantastic series!
I am so disappointed with this book! It was such a colossal waste of time and I will never be able to get back those 23+ hours I lost on this horrible book.
I should have expected disappointment after book two but I had high hopes that it was just suffering from "middle book syndrome". Sadly no...
I adored A Discovery of Witches, thought Shadow of Night was boring, but I seriously disliked The Book of Life. It did not tie up any loose ends, there was absolutely no resolution on Ashmole 782 (really, what was the point of all of that?) and it was flat out boring.
I honestly don't know what happened to this series!
I stayed up all night listening to this book and it was well worth being exhausted the next day. What a fantastic listen and a huge surprise from this great writing duo. I honestly didn't think they could pull off another book as good as The Beautiful Series but they did! I'm just mad at myself for not listening to this one sooner!! I can't wait for the next installment and I can assure you I will not wait 3-4 months before devouring it.
5 Sweet Stars!!
Hands down one of the best paranormal romance series EVER! Most tend to get stale after too many books, but this one keeps getting better and better. This is number 14 in the Immortals After Dark series and it is as fresh as the first. I love how Ms. Cole weaves the timelines of her books together and revisits moments we have seen by other characters in previous books. It's just brilliant! I wish I could give this book (and the series) 10 stars!
This series just keeps getting better and better with every book. And the cliffhanger ending – WOW! I both love and hate Jennifer Armentrout for her incredible endings. This book was definitely more intense than the first two as emotions run high with the return of Dawson and the hunt for Beth. I don’t want to give away any spoilers – so I’ll just say this is another amazing story by a very talent author.
This was a thrilling conclusion to the 2-part Archetype series (my favorite of 2014). Much like the first book, this was chock-full of action, romance and endless plot twists. It had the perfect blend of everything I enjoy in a romance novel. Some people might be turned off by the sci-fi/dystopian aspect of this book, but at it's heart this is a love story. There are plenty of swoon-worthy moments and it's not filled with endless pages of meaningless sex scenes.
Khristine Hvam is one of my favorite narrators and she did an excellent job of capturing the heart and soul of Emma.
I LOVED this book and can't recommend it enough.
From the start I was instantly drawn into this story. Told in duel points of view, it was such a mesmerizing listen. The narrators did an excellent job of bringing this well written and unique story to life. It made me feel transported to another place and time and I became utterly lost within the words.
These Broken Stars is a story of survival and love, set in a sci-fi world, with intriguing mysteries to solve, that will have you listening late into the night. There are so many twists and turns and “I didn’t see that coming” moments. It will have you guessing almost to the very end.
This was such an unexpected gem of a book. 5 HUGE stars!!
This narrator was like listening to a robot read a text book. There was no emotion whatsoever and no change from one character to the next. Definitely not a good choice for a romance/erotic story. This was a great conclusion to the series and I enjoyed the POV of Caleb but the narration just ruined it for me. If you enjoyed the first two books do yourself a favor and skip the audio - get the print version instead.
I loved this conclusion to the Blackstone Affair. Ethan is one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends. Even though this could have been an epilogue I am so glad the author decided to give us a fourth book instead. I love Ethan and Brynne and I enjoyed this final journey of love and healing. It was the perfect conclusion. I also love Shane East and Grace Grant as the narrators.
5 star listen!
