Gideon Cross: As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn’t stay away. I didn’t want to. He was my addiction…my every desire…mine. My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful…except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession.…

I loved Bared to You, so perhaps my hopes were a little too high for Reflected. This book ran both HOT and COLD for me. At times it was amazing (the sex) but mostly it was just so-so. Gideon and Eva are all over the place. There were times in this book that I really wanted them to work out there differences and just be happy together. Other times I hated one or the other so much I almost gave up listening. There were too many places in the story that just made me roll my eyes and say "really?".
Like the first book there are still too many unanswered questions (Gideon's past for example) and there needs to be a little more character development. Overall I still enjoyed the book and plan to read the next one.

Leila's years on the carnie circuit were certainly an education. What she didn't learn: how to be a vampire, or how to be married to the most famous vampire of them all. Adjusting to both has Leila teetering on a knife edge between passion and peril, and now the real danger is about to begin...

    5 HOT stars!

Admittedly Kresley Cole is my favorite author, so when this book became available I immediately dove in to this sinful and erotic tale. I don’t really enjoy BDSM stories (the market is saturated now) but I loved “The Professional” so this was a must listen for me. WOW! I think my iPhone almost melted with this one. This was a hot and steamy listen with tons and tons of sex. Fortunately it wasn’t the repetitive kind or sex just for the sake of sex on paper. It was part of the story and nothing was too over the top (at least for a super erotic Russian mafia fantasy). I absolutely love Ms. Cole’s writing and this one did not disappoint.
On a side note, I’m thrilled the publishers released this as a complete book and not in the serial format like The Professional. This moved the listen up to a solid 5 stars.

I seriously thought this was going to be another trilogy and thus the end of the Arcana Chronicles. Despite the excruciating cliff-hanger ending I am so relieved that this series will continue on for at least another book (or hopefully more). I get utterly lost in this world that Ms. Cole has created. She is hands down my favorite author and she did not disappoint with this one. I will be holding my breath until the next book which undoubtedly will not come soon enough. Curse you Ms. Cole and your brilliant writing.

Another shockingly suspenseful installment in #1 New York Times best-selling author Karen Marie Moning's Fever series. Burned picks up right where the surprising conclusion of Iced left off, and will feature beloved characters Mac and Dani O'Malley as they embark on another high-octane adventure in the Fever world.

I loved Iced and couldn't wait for Burned to finally get released. I should have figured something was up when the release date was pushed by several agonizing months. As much as I love Mac, Barons and the entire Fever series I was really looking forward to hearing more from Dani - not Mac (or 6 other POVs). It was a huge let down not to get inside Dani's head again for this one. Even though I enjoyed the overall experience of listening to the book (thanks to Phil and Natalie) I could have left this one off the "must listen to" list. Mega disappointment.

After a few missteps (Paris and Kane) this series seems to be back on track and better than ever. It’s just a steamy has the earlier books and to the writing style that made me fall in love with these characters in the first place. I’ve been anxious to hear Torin’s story and it is by far one of my favorites. The Red Queen is just as sassy as Anya which made this one so much fun. I can’t wait for the next installment and to see what Ms. Showalter has in store for Cameo.

Much like the first book of this series, I was instantly drawn into the story. Again you are transported to a beautifully written Sci-Fi world (set in the same time as the first) with non-stop action and thrills. Although the worlds are similar, the characters, planet and story are very different. Unlike the slow burn of the first book, this one starts out with a bang and never lets up until the end. It was absolutely thrilling. Narration was great too. I can’t wait until the next book by this author.

Emma has just learned that her mother is a long-lost Poseidon princess and now struggles with an identity crisis. As a half-breed, she’s a freak in the human world and an abomination in the Syrena realm. Syrena law states that all half-breeds should be put to death.

Much like the first book this was a light and fluffy beach read. I enjoyed the story and it did have some funny parts, but overall it was just ok. I only purchased this book because the first one had a cliffhanger ending. (annoying) Thankfully this book wraps up the story nicely and I felt it came to a satisfying conclusion. Even though there is a third book, I didn’t feel compelled to purchase it. Definitely not what the publishers want but I was happy as a listener.

Emma and her friend Chloe are spending vacation in Florida. When Emma (literally) runs into a hot guy named Galen on the beach, little does she know he's a prince of the Syrena. Galen and Emma both feel something strange - is it attraction? - and Galen suspects that Emma might well be the girl he's heard of - a human who can communicate with fish. What follows is a deadly scene with a shark in which Galen witnesses Emma's gifts. He must know more about her, and follows her back to New Jersey, and high school.

If you are in the mood for a light and fun listen than look no further. However, if you want a story that is multi-layered and complex you should definitely skip this one. This is your typical beach read (very light and fluffy) It was a sweet story with some likeable parts and overall I found it enjoyable. But Mermaids just really don’t do it for me. Unfortunately it ends in a cliffhanger so I felt compelled to get book 2. If that sort of thing annoys you, don’t bother getting this one.

Things are about to heat up.… Brandi Vaughn wishes she could stand out. She’d do anything to get out from behind the shadow of her socialite family - which now includes Dani, her half sister, recently discovered to be the most powerful vampire known to their kind.

But Brandi is more extraordinary than anyone realizes. The fiery young vamp has a secret elemental power - an inner flame that she must keep under control so as not to reveal herself to the dangerous rogue vampire targeting exceptional talents like hers.

If you enjoyed the first book of the Forbidden Bond Series than you will love book 2. From the start it is a non-stop thrill-ride of action, adventure and mystery. My heart was racing after the first few chapters! Although I expected this book to continue the story of Dani and Chase, it focused instead on Dani's half sister Brandi. Wow did I really enjoy her story. The author did include characters from the first book but it was nice to get Brandi's story and for the author to introduce some delicious new characters (Greyson, Derek). I'm looking forward to the next book and I hope it focuses on Griffin.
