So far Tempt Me At Twilight is my favorite Hathaway story. Although based on the reviews for book 4 that might change. I love the Hathaway family. They are witty and fun and always make me laugh. This is a fun/easy listen and Rosalyn Landor is excellent! I would suggest starting with book 1 first, but this would make a great stand alone story as well.
Overall I did enjoy this book and I did like the concept of a half-human half-vampire lead character. However, this book lacked some serious editing. The story was choppy and there were way too many plot twists and turns that just didn’t make sense. It seemed as though the author threw everything but “the kitchen sink” into this story. It was a little over the top in my opinion. Thankfully this is a very entertaining book at the right price. For that reason I will most likely move on to the 2nd installment.
Ruin and Rising is a beautiful and emotional ending to a fantastic trilogy. I absolutely loved this book and I could not put it down. I lost a lot of sleep over this one and I must say it was well worth the sleepless nights. Much like the previous two books this was a rich story with well-developed characters and plenty of plot twists and turns.
The final installment ties up many loose ends and comes to an absolutely satisfying conclusion. Although many were disappointed by the ending (mainly the love story) I thought the author did a wonderful job of pulling off a love quadrangle. There was never a “clear choice” for Alina and I believe the story came to a logical and satisfying ending.
I cared so much for these characters, including the villain; he was so cruel, calculating and absolutely evil but I still found him completely mesmerizing. Kudos to Bardugo’s brilliant writing!
I’m sad to let this story and these characters go, but I look forward to more from such a talented author.
5 HUGE stars!!
I loved this entire series. Laini Taylor is such a talented writer. It's like artistry on paper or ear candy for audible listeners. Her characters are deep with extensive world building - you can't help but get sucked into this fantasy she has created. I crave more and can only hope this is NOT THE END of such a wonderful series. Thank the God Stars, but I really want more!!!
Definitely a 5 star listen!!!!
I don’t know what it is about this series but I was hooked from book 1. This is definitely one of my guilty pleasures. The final installment of "The Selection" may have been predictable but I so enjoyed the journey. Kiera Cass is a very talented author and I look forward to more of her books.
This was a credit-worthy, 5 star listen. Good story, great narration and that cover art is perfection!
Plain and simple I loved this book! It's everything you've come to expect from a JR Ward BDB book. I'm amazed after 12 installments I still find these characters interesting and enjoyable. (unlike other vamp series) Kudos to the brilliant author and fantastic narrator. Keep 'em coming!!
I love Kristen Ashley books, but I did not love this one. It was actually boring (I can't believe I said that about a KA book) and it took some time for me to "care" about the main characters. I just couldn't connect with Lanie and Hop as a couple. It wasn't a bad story, but I found myself stopping this book to do other things like watch tv, read some paperbacks, mall shopping, etc. If I can let a book go for a couple of days and not care about finishing it....well, you know what that means.
Sadly, I was disappointed.
I don’t enjoy writing negative reviews, but this book was a huge disappointment for me. I love Lauren Oliver’s writing and her Delirium Trilogy is one of my favorites. However, this book was far from being a favorite for me.
At first the story was very promising and there was certainly a thrill factor that perfectly fit the title. Unfortunately it went downhill very quickly and overall was just plain boring. I couldn’t sympathize with the characters and most of the plotline I found completely implausible. I get it - Panic is a game born out of small-town boredom, but most of the “tasks” were just reckless and stupid. Nothing was done out of bravery or honor.
I’m giving this one 2.5 stars for two simple reasons. Lauren Oliver’s writing style is superb and Sarah Drew’s narration is always exciting and engaging. Sadly, I wish I could say the same about the actual book.
I love these hot biker books and the Reapers MC is one of my favorites. Although this wasn't as good (or crazy) as Reaper's Property, it did have it's shocking moments. I loved visiting characters from the first book and learning more about the MC. My only complaint was the dual narration. It just didn't add any value or increase the listening experience for me. Overall this is a great listen for fans of MC romance.
If you are a fan of the Selection Trilogy then this is a great little nugget to get before the release of "The One". It doesn't add anything new to the storyline but it does give an inside look into the mind of Maxon (the prince) and Aspen (the guard). Not to mention the sneak peek section is well worth the purchase. This was a quick and enjoyable listen.
Overall I really enjoyed the entire Professional “series” and thought Kresley Cole’s writing was excellent. However, I didn’t enjoy the way this book was released in a serial format. In my opinion it made the story too choppy and created unnecessary cliffhangers. If there is a spin-off of The Game Makers, I will wait until the entire book is released. Otherwise, I thought the overall story, narration and writing were excellent.
