I loved the GK series so much and I really enjoyed this (hopefully not) last book. It's quite a bit darker than than the previous books in the series and despite my constant mental dialogue ("Get back with her, you dummy!") I found the story to be very engaging.

As with many of the other reviewers, Elisabeth Rodgers is the quintessential Georgina. She's got that perfect blend of smokey voice, sensuality and strength of character. Absolutely love her narration.

Old ghosts of different kinds come back to haunt Felix, in the fourth gripping Felix Castor novel. Names and faces he thought he'd left behind in Liverpool resurface in London, bringing Castor far more trouble than he'd anticipated. Childhood memories, family traumas, sins old and new, and a council estate that was meant to be a modern utopia until it turned into something like hell...these are just some of the sticks life uses to beat Felix Castor with as things go from bad to worse for London's favourite freelance exorcist.

What a gem this series is! Hooked as I was by the first book, this fourth installment has completely addicted me!
Just a note about the change of narrator: at first I was disappointed when hearing Damian Lynch as Felix, but as I listened, his narration totally grew on me and very soon I enjoyed his version. It will be very interesting to hear the difference with the next book.
The author beautifully defines the characters, giving us an enthralling scene of Felix's childhood and the memories of his life. Well defined and beautifully written, the plot moved at a good pace without sacrificing insights into characters.
Definitely a cut above most paranormal series and Felix Castor is irresistible.
What a cliffhanger of an ending!

Charlaine Harris' smash-hit Sookie Stackhouse series may have reached its conclusion, but the world of Bon Temps, Louisiana, lives on in this all-new collection of 15 stories. Written by a killer lineup of authors, including New York Times best-sellers Rachel Caine, MaryJanice Davidson, Jonathan Maberry and Seanan McGuire, and with introductions read by Charlaine herself, Dead but Not Forgotten puts your favorite characters center stage.

Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she's ever known about him.

I agree with all the glowing reviews of this wonderful series. And Lorelei King's narration is so skilled and so perfect for all the characters. She's amazing in her talent to capture each character with a totally identifiable vocal quality.

I love Charley and Reyes with all their passion (lots more delicious sex in this book) and Osh (spelling?) and Uncle Bob and...you get the point.

Darynda Jones has a wonderful writing style and I can't wait for the next book that I hope she hurries up and writes before I have too much caffeine.

When he was 19, James Stark was considered to be one of the greatest natural magicians, a reputation that got him demon-snatched and sent downtown - to Hell - where he survived as a gladiator, a sideshow freak entertaining Satan's fallen angels. That was 11 years ago. Now, the hitman who goes only by Stark has escaped and is back in L.A. Armed with a fortune-telling coin, a black bone knife, and an infernal key, Stark is determined to destroy the magic circle.

With a dash of Film Noir, this first book was so fun! Loved the talking heads and the witty repartee!
Loved the combination of the real world with magic and religion. Loved all the god, demons, heaven, hell, Lucifer descriptions.
I will definitely continue with the series and I adored the narrator. Lots of fun!

Most girls might think twice before getting engaged to someone like Reyes Farrow - but Charley Davidson is not most girls. She’s a paranormal private eye and grim-reaper-in-training who’s known to be a bit of a hell-raiser, especially after a few shots of caffeine. Her beloved Reyes may be the only begotten son of evil, but he’s dark and sultry and deeply sexy and everything Charley could hope for. Really. But when the FBI file on Reyes’ childhood happens to land into her lap, she can’t help herself: She opens it...and then the real fun begins.

After reading all the other reviews, it's hard to come up with anything to say except I really love this series. So entertaining, so exciting and so well written, I don't want it to end. No, it's not heavy literature, but it is a wonderful mix of humor, action and poignancy,
And like other reviewers, Lorelei King IS Charlie Davidson. And, I might add, all the other characters. She is one fabulous narrator.
This is absolutely one of my top favorite urban paranormal series.

Their children are taught that David Pilcher, the town's creator, is god. No one is allowed to leave; even asking questions can get you killed. But Ethan has discovered the astonishing secret of what lies beyond the electrified fence that surrounds Wayward Pines and protects it from the terrifying world beyond.

A very entertaining story, but too many times I had to suspend my disbelief. Too many times, I questioned "why?". Like: Why not tell the people what was going on? Why all the elaborate hidden surveillance? Why have them engage in ritual killings? I know there were rather weak reasons given for these things, but I really had to put all of it aside and just go with the story.
And if the mad scientist's purpose was to repopulate the Earth, then why wasn't there any emphasis of pregnancies? It seems they certainly had no qualms killing lots of people. Wouldn't they be concerned about the gene pool reduction?
Don't get me started, I just have to go with the flow.

Welcome to Wayward Pines, population 461. Nestled amid picture-perfect mountains, the idyllic town is a modern-day Eden - except for the electrified fence and razor wire, snipers scoping everything 24/7, and the relentless surveillance tracking each word and gesture. None of the residents know how they got here. They are told where to work, how to live, and who to marry. Some believe they are dead. Others think they're trapped in an unfathomable experiment. Everyone secretly dreams of leaving, but those who dare face a terrifying surprise.

Definitely better than the first because of more character development and nice plot twists, but my suspension of disbelief was wearing thin when I focused on the whole premise of the town and its creator.
I am a sci fi afficianado, but for me, there has to be a few less gigantic loopholes and a bit more reality.
But again, I did enjoy this sequel and I will get the third book.

Don't get me wrong, I ADORE the Outlander series! I say "Jesus H. Roosevelt Christ" all the time. But this book in the series fell just a tad short for me.
Maybe it was the boring historical battle details, maybe it was the forgettable supporting characters, but I can only give it four stars instead of five.
Nevertheless, this isn't going to stop me from being a rabid Outlander fan And I'm enthralled watching the Starz series! It's awesome!
Davina Porter IS Claire and every other character as far as I'm concerned. She is absolutely AMAZING!

Wayward Pines, Idaho, is quintessential small-town America — or so it seems. Secret Service agent Ethan Burke arrives in search of two missing federal agents, yet soon is facing much more than he bargained for. After a violent accident lands him in the hospital, Ethan comes to with no ID and no cell phone. The medical staff seems friendly enough, but something feels…off. As the days pass, Ethan’s investigation into his colleagues’ disappearance turns up more questions than answers. Why can’t he make contact with his family in the outside world? Why doesn’t anyone believe he is who he says he is? And what’s the purpose of the electrified fences encircling the town? Are they keeping the residents in? Or something else out? Each step toward the truth takes Ethan further from the world he knows, until he must face the horrifying possibility that he may never leave Wayward Pines alive…

I didn't know it was a series, so I reserve final judgment until I hear the sequels.

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

I was enthralled throughout the entire, long, long book. I absolutely did not want this wonderful story to end. Hey! Maybe I could go back in time and listen to it again! Naahh.

I even loved the epilogue by Mr. King himself. I was fascinated by all the research he did.

I'm afraid I did not totally love Craig Wasson's narration. He was skilled in Boston accents and some Texas accents, but for me, his voice had an older person's sound that didn't fit with many of the characters, especially the main character and the women. I know that might seem like nitpicking, but listening to a book is so different than reading it. The narrator interprets the emotion and meaning of the words. For this audio book, at times I found myself trying to put aside Mr. Wasson's voice and listen to the words as if I were reading.

Nevertheless, marvelous story, equally marvelous writing from a masterful author.
