"It's the animal in us," we often hear when we've been bad. But why not when we're good? Primates and Philosophers tackles this question by exploring the biological foundations of one of humanity's most valued traits: morality. In this provocative book, primatologist Frans de Waal argues that modern-day evolutionary biology takes far too dim a view of the natural world, emphasizing our "selfish" genes.

This book wasn???t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

    An scholar of primatology.

What could Frans de Waal have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Make it more linear with clear conclusions at the end of each chapter.

What about Alan Sklar???s performance did you like?

    Good.Not the problem.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Primates and Philosophers?

None.Needs somehow a conclusion, with a short review by the end of each chapter.More linear story as well.

Dinosaurs, with their awe-inspiring size, terrifying claws and teeth, and otherworldly abilities, occupy a sacred place in our childhoods. They loom over museum halls, thunder through movies, and are a fundamental part of our collective imagination. In My Beloved Brontosaurus, the dinosaur fanatic Brian Switek enriches the childlike sense of wonder these amazing creatures instill in us. Investigating the latest discoveries in paleontology, he breathes new life into old bones.

A very interesting story, but, I became very upset as the reader goes too fast and sounds uninterested in the subject. Ruined by the wrong reader! Couldn`t finnish it.

There are some odd things about Nate’s new apartment. Of course, he has other things on his mind. He hates his job. He has no money in the bank. No girlfriend. No plans for the future. So while his new home isn’t perfect, it’s livable. The rent is low, the property managers are friendly, and the odd little mysteries don’t nag at him too much. At least, not until he meets Mandy, his neighbor across the hall, and notices something unusual about her apartment. And Xela’s apartment. And Tim’s. And Veek’s.

An excellent audio version of a fantasy thriller with a realistic, contemporary set of characthers. A modern take on the H.P.Lovecraft mithos with subtle irony and an amazing work of narrative growing tension.Very entertaining, funny, chilling at the end. Perfect audio book for disconnecting tension, stress, altough some drops of social situation, crisis.

  • 11-22-63: A Novel

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The ending. It's a bit messy.Past can't be changed, or it creates a new parallel universe on its own.

What could Stephen King have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The female protagonist should have been more independent, specially in the future 2011 (make her married).Seems she's been created for the main characther. I would have liked a bit more uncertainty. And, the alternate futures created by altering the past, should be more realistic.I would suggest to review the ending with a bit less fantasy and a bit more realistic (it's very difficult, I know!).

What about Craig Wasson’s performance did you like?

Perfect for this story! A 10+

Great "page turner".However, reminds me A LOT the series "Back to the future" I & II where time travelling to alter past was treated in the plot perfectly.Including the alternate bleak future created in the part II
