I did not realize when I read this book that there were 5 stories preceeding it. Having said that, as a stand alone story, it was totally engrossing and superbly narrated. I really enjoy historical romances, and this one did not disappoint. I love the Duke of Villier's character - a rake with a soft heart. I also enjoyed Susan Duerden's narration. There are some narrators that are so disjointed that you simply can't get into the story. No so with this narrator. She brought out the characters so that you were just simply pulled into the story! I have listened to many parts over and over with total enjoyment!
The story of Evie and Sebastian is just a wonderful read. I enjoy Historical Romances, and this story was worth the time and the credit. The narrator was equally as good!
It is rare for me to re-listen to a story right after I've heard it., but the story was wonderful (maybe I just loved the hero and the heroine) and the narration by Justine O. Keef is just over the top. She certainly MADE this story come alive. Great job all around.
I am sure the story was a good story, but having listened to many different narrators by this time, I certainly have my favorites. I just could not get by this narrator's monotone and lack of inflection which ruined the story for me. I skipped ahead just to get the "gist" of the story because it was too painful to listen to.
This was a very suspenseful story that gripped you from the first. It was hard to stop listening because you really wanted to know what happened. This was my first audio book experience and I have to say that it was a very, very good beginning.
