I love Tim Curry, really I do, but hearing him read from a female protagonist's point of view was almost more than I could bear. The story is fascinating, well paced, and unfolds quite nicely. The characters were likable and flawed just enough to make them real but not so much that it was frustrating or distracting.
Orson Scott Card's "Ender's Game" is brilliant. The characters, the plot, the language, all of it is executed with perfection. I listened to two different performances of this story and was very impressed with this version. The readers made an already capturing story more engaging.
I purchased this audio book to play for my 9th grade English course and was not disappointed. The students were engaged (which is saying something), and I did not grimace at the reading once. I am a picky listener; I will stop listening to a story that I like if I do not enjoy the reader. B.J.Harrison was interesting and dynamic. He had a wonderful hold on the characters and brought them to life. Bravo.
