Temperance Brennan hears the news on her car radio. An Air TransSouth flight has gone down in the mountains of western North Carolina, taking with it 88 passengers and crew. An a forensic anthropologist and a member of the regional DMORT team, Tempe rushes to the scene to assist in body recovery and identification. She finds a field of carnage: torsos in trees, limbs strewn among bursting suitcases, and smoldering debris. Many of the dead are members of a university soccer team. Is her daughter among them?

What aspect of Kate Harper’s performance would you have changed?

She mispronounced the names of the majority of places mentioned in the book. Being from the south, it was distracting and annoying. It would have been helpful, if she had done a bit of research regarding the locations.

    P. J. and Cole were sharpshooting rivals on the same KGI team and enjoyed a spirited, uncomplicated camaraderie. Until the night they gave in to their desires and suddenly took their relationship one step further. In the aftermath of their one-night stand, they’re called out on a mission that goes terribly wrong, and P. J. walks away from KGI, resolved not to drag her teammates into the murky shadows she’s poised to delve into. Six months later, Cole hasn’t given up his search for P. J., and he’s determined to bring her back home where she belongs.

Would you consider the audio edition of Shades of Gray to be better than the print version?

No. I love the story, but the narrator was one of the worst I have ever heard.

What didn’t you like about Adam Paul’s performance?

Monotone. I was used to the other narrator, so the change in voices of the characters was annoying. His southern accents were awful.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, but I ended buying the Kindle edition because I couldn't listen to the narrator for long periods of time.

    Any additional comments?

Bring back the other narrator. PLEASE!!

She is 20, beautiful, dirt-poor, and hoping for a better life for her infant daughter when LuAnn Tyler is offered the gift of a lifetime, a $100 million lottery jackpot. All she has to do is change her identity and leave the U.S. forever. It's an offer she dares to refuse...until violence forces her hand and thrusts her into a harrowing game of high-stakes, big-money subterfuge. It's a price she won't fully pay...until she does the unthinkable and breaks the promise that made her rich.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I dislike when narrators do not pronounce names properly. The narrator repeatedly mispronouced Gwinnett County. If you are going to pretend to be from a place, you have to say the names correctly.
