Lod Airport, Israel: Two Concorde jets take off for a U.N. conference that will finally bring peace to the Middle East. Covered by F-14 fighters, accompanied by security men, the planes carry warriors, pacifists, lovers, enemies, dignitaries - and a bomb planted by a terrorist mastermind. Suddenly they're forced to crash-land at an ancient desert site. Here, with only a handful of weapons, the men and women of the peace mission must make a desperate stand against an army of crack Palestinian commandos....

Patti says: "A good story, but a lot of characters"
    "Outstanding, As Expected"
    Overall

Mr. DeMille is an author whose work I always wait for with great expectations, and I'm never disappointed. The story is exciting and more than well presented by Mr. Brick. All that much better when you get out your National Geographic maps and see the path of the adventure.

In the Pacific, as USS Walker is repaired and updated after a previous battle and Reddy is healing from his wounds, planning begins for a bold raid on the very heart of the Grik Empire. But time is running out for the Alliance army in India, and the Allied forces in the west must gather in an unprecedented land, air, and sea campaign to destroy the mighty Grik battle fleet and break through to their relief. All other plans go on hold when the attempt proves more difficult - and more heartbreakingly costly - than anyone imagined.

Where does Storm Surge rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Taylor Anderson stands alone and each book in this series is awaited like a Christmas present when I was 10 years old.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Storm Surge?

It's full of memorable moments, up to the end and anticipation for Book 9.

Which character – as performed by William Dufris – was your favorite?

Mr. Dufris is each character, how he remembers each voice , each personality, is beyond my understanding - he's a really great actor, and makes each book a pleasure. Mr. Anderson provides the stories, Mr. Dufris brings his stories to all of us. What a team!

    Any additional comments?

Mr. Anderson, please keep them coming, and Audible, keep Mr. Dufris in that studio!

The four dead guards didn’t concern Mitch Rapp as much as the absence of the man they’d been paid to protect. Joe Rickman wasn’t just another foot soldier. For the last eight years Rickman had ran the CIA’s clandestine operations in Afghanistan. It was a murky job that involved working with virtually every disreputable figure in the Islamic Republic. More than a quarter billion dollars in cash had passed through Rickman’s hands during his tenure as the master of black ops and no one with a shred of sense wanted to know the details of how that money had been spent.

Where does The Last Man rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Come on! This is a silly question to ask anyone.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, character well developed, action keeps the story moving.

What about George Guidall’s performance did you like?

Mr. Guidall I will rate. He's in the top two or three readers I've have the pleasure to listen to and an author has the good luck to have perform his/her book.

Anti-Terrorist Task Force agent John Corey and his wife, FBI agent Kate Mayfield, have been posted overseas to Sana'a, Yemen - one of the most dangerous places in the Middle East. While there, they will be working with a small team to track down one of the masterminds behind the USS Cole bombing: a high-ranking Al Qaeda operative known as The Panther. Ruthless and elusive, he's wanted for multiple terrorist acts and murders - and the U.S. government is determined to bring him down, no matter the cost.

    Top 10%

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Panther?

    Learning about Yemen.

What about Scott Brick’s performance did you like?

Mr. Brick is outstanding and is always at the top of his profession.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not really, it's just a darn good and exciting story.

    Any additional comments?

The bringing in of Paul Brenner to work with John Corey was a great idea by Mr. DeMille, but the wife character still comes out, to me at least, as a twit.

The Delta Solution is an action-packed novel pitting Navy SEAL Mack Bedford against the Somali pirates operating off the southerly reaches of the lawless East African republic on the Indian Ocean. For the past three years, these heavily armed tribal brigands have been capturing and holding for ransom massive cargo ships, and violently demanding millions of dollars for their return. Hero Mack Bedford is deployed to obliterate them in the middle of the Indian Ocean, at all costs, once and for all.

    G. House Sr. says: "Good story but needs editing, 33% too long"

Every Seal a Superman. A plot that never would have left the Pentagon or White House.

The tomb of China’s First Emperor, guarded by an underground army of terra-cotta warriors, has remained sealed for more than 2,000 years. Though it’s regarded as one of the greatest archaeological sites in the world, the Chinese government won’t allow anyone to open it. Why? That question is at the heart of a dilemma faced by former Justice Department operative Cotton Malone, whose life is shattered when he receives an anonymous note carrying an unfamiliar Web address.

I'm never disappointed, except for the end of the book when I worry about whether or not Mr. DeMille has another coming out soon, and that Scott Brick is going to continue his excellent job as the voice of John.

The far-flung and isolated citadel of Arete faces out across the wasteland, awaiting the inevitable invasion. One man is sent to marshal the defences of this lonely city; one man to shore up the crumbling walls of a once indomitable symbol of Roman power; a man whose name itself means war, a man called Ballista.

Author Harry Sidebottom is new to me, but I'd sure like to get into something else he's written. Good story, good history, and great book. Can we get more from him?
