Tristan MacGregor is famed throughout the Highlands as a silver-tongued seducer and an unrepentant rogue. Bold and charming, he’s dallied with many women, yet none as mysterious as the lass he steals a kiss from at king’s court. Little does he know this beauty is one of his clan’s greatest enemies.

Had to get this audio book after getting the first in the series from my library. I am hooked! I love this narrator, makes the characters come alive. I always promise myself I will ONLY listen in the car during my commute, but then I end up listening at home too because I can't stand to wait. Tristan is such a different lead man from his older brother in the first one, that keeps it interesting. Now and can't wait to listen to the next two in this series.

With its posh clientele in the country for the summer, Georgie's housecleaning business has fizzled. So she tries hiring herself out as a dinner and theatre companion. But her first client has quite the wrong idea. To avoid further scandal, Georgie's shipped home to Castle Rannoch, where her summer plans include honoring a promise to Her Majesty to keep Castle Rannoch's divorcedhouseguest from seducing the Prince of Wales.

Love this series, it is entertaining and light. This narrator is fabulous, the characters come alive. Very few audio books make me laugh out loud, this series has that effect frequently. I love the descriptions of the royals, the fact that these women are trained only how to be a wife, and where to seat aristocrats at dinner parties. There are little digs like that, which add a lot of flavor to the stories. The fact that Georgie is always trying to find some way to support herself when she has no marketable skills. A unique perspective on that time period. And of course the handsome Darcy plot always adds a lot. Definitely start with the first one in this series.

One look at Harry Pye, and Georgina knows she's not just dealing with a servant, but a man. Harry has known many aristocrats - including one particular nobleman who is his sworn enemy. But Harry has never met a beautiful lady so independent, uninhibited, and eager to be in his arms. Still, it's impossible to conduct a discreet liaison when poisoned sheep, murdered villagers, and an enraged magistrate have the county in an uproar.

As others have said, this is the best of the three books in this series (Raven Prince, Leopard Prince, Serpent Prince). You really don't need to read these in any order, as they don't connect much at all with each other. Something about the personality of this heroine, and the commoner hero, really click. Love everything about it. I always love the stories where females from this time period defy convention and are as independent as possible. This narrator is fabulous, cannot say enough about the great job she does.

Came across this series by accident when on sale, and really enjoy it. Not really into the whole paranormal thing usually, but do enjoy the supernatural, time travel, etc parts of these stories. Don't understand complaints about this narrator, he does a fabulous job. Unless you have a male and female narrator performing together, you are going to have a man doing female voices, or female doing male. Have listened to others by this narrator and think he is great. I will definitely keep getting the books in this series.

Captured in a surprise attack on her father's castle, Gwendolen is now forced to share her bed with the man who defeated her clan. But, in spite of Angus's overpowering charms, she refuses to surrender her innocence without a fight. With her stunning beauty, bold defiance, and brazen smile, Gwendolen is the most infuriating woman Angus has ever known - and the most intoxicating.

Love this series, can't wait to listen to the third book. The narrator is good, the accents sometimes seem a little forced, but overall he does a good job even with the female voices. I like the imperfections of the lead characters, especially Angus, and how he overcomes those. And I always like it when the women are strong, even in an era when they had so few rights.

Ryder is the hardest Montgomery brother to figure out - with a tough-as-nails outside and possibly nothing too soft underneath. He’s surly and unsociable, but when he straps on a tool belt, no woman can resist his sexy swagger. Except, apparently, Hope Beaumont, the innkeeper of his own Inn BoonsBoro.... As the former manager of a D.C. hotel, Hope is used to excitement and glamour, but that doesn’t mean she can’t appreciate the joys of small-town living. She’s where she wants to be - except for in her love life....

This was the best of the series for me, always liked Ryder the best of the brothers. Glad I did not let other reviews keep me from getting this series. I did get used to the narrator, sped up to 1 1/2 times speed for all three books, and he did get better with kids' voices with each book. The ghost storyline was a little too over the top, but the historical descriptions made it interesting. Overall glad I listened to this series.

Owen is the organizer of the Montgomery clan, running the family’s construction business with an iron fist - and an even less flexible spreadsheet. And though his brothers give him grief for his compulsive list making, the Inn BoonsBoro is about to open right on schedule. The only thing Owen didn’t plan for was Avery MacTavish... Avery’s popular pizza place is right across the street from the inn, giving her a firsthand look at its amazing renovation - and a newfound appreciation for Owen.

This one is better than the first in the series for two reasons: very few kids voices for the narrator to screech (although there are a few), and fewer details about the inn because they were all in the first one. I still kept my player on 1 1/2 time though, as otherwise it drags. The story line from Avery's past adds more depth to this story I think. And the ghost continues to make it fun. Will be getting the last one in this series.

The historic hotel in Boonsboro has endured war and peace, the changing of hands, and even rumored hauntings. Now it’s getting a major face-lift from the Montgomery brothers and their eccentric mother. As the architect in the family, Beckett’s social life consists mostly of talking shop over pizza and beer. But there’s another project he’s got his eye on: the girl he’s been waiting to kiss since he was sixteen.

Almost didn't get this book because of the reviews on the narrator. Glad I got it anyway, but I agree with the comments about the kids voices. They are awful, and when they come on I have to turn down the volume. Really annoying. I also set my player on 1 1/2 time so it sped up. That said, this is a good story. It is very detailed though, not sure every tiny detail of the house renovation had to be included. So another reason to speed it up. I enjoy this author's books sometimes, don't want them all the time. A little too sappy. But the interactions between family members are fun, the romance is good, the struggles of some of the characters add interest, and the ghost is charming. Even though it is predictable, getting there is entertaining. I'm sure I will get the others in this series.

What's a nice girl like Miss Juliet Shelby doing at a place like Lord Deveril's ballroom? With her shy demeanor, she's a total stranger to the dance floor and a source of mockery for the ton. So imagine her surprise when Deveril gallantly comes to her defense - and offers to teach her to dance! Juliet can hardly believe the most handsome bachelor in London would notice her, until he takes her in his arms and sets her heart ablaze. Lord Alec Deveril has never felt such a spark of attraction for an unmarried lady before. Unlike the "fashionable" ladies he's accustomed to, Juliet possesses a generous spirit, a fiery intelligence, and a secret.

This is really a sequel to 'How To Marry A Duke", although you can enjoy this one without having listened to the first. I like the first one a little better, liked the female lead better in that one. But, I did like this story more and more as it went along. This narrator has long pauses, had to get used to that again. The female characters were a little annoying, especially the friends of Julianne. But, the story line improved and the last half was the best part. If you like historical romances you would enjoy this.

Loved all four books in this series, but the first and last ones were my favorites. You definitely should listen to all of them. Yes, you can get the basics of the other brothers if you just listen to this book. But then you miss out on all the personality nuances and interactions in the family. Would give this series 10 stars if I could. By this book the characters feel like family, and just the way they act, especially Ian from the first book, made me laugh out loud. Will definitely look for more from this author.

The narrator was great for this story. The story, well, the characters weren't very well developed. I know this is an earlier book by this author. Some parts did make me laugh, but I think there were many story lines that could have been explored in more depth. With this genre I'm certainly not expecting deep thinking, that's not why I listen to them. But would have enjoyed it more with a better plot. With less dimensional characters, they are also less believable and harder to relate to. Might try a later book by this author.
