The book was entertaining but a little boring. I kept waiting for something, not too sure what, just something...It never came.
A little bit more drama would help.
Really not a horrible read, just ho hum, yawn....
ALL OF THEM!
Horrible book, worst narration I have ever heard! ... Do not waste a credit on this book....
I think someone who is already a widow or has experienced the loss of a loved one, would like this book......I really thought it might give me more of a feeling of appreciation for my family and husband while they are still healthy and happy. Not! It was just really boring....
Nothing, it was just a bad choice on my part. Someone who has experienced loss may enjoy this book.
Ellen Parker was not the person to read this book. I could not even try to enjoy this book with Ellen reading it....Maybe Jane Fonda or Kim Cattrall
If the person reading this book had done a better job I think the book may have been a bit more interesting...Maybe a paperback would work better..
This book was written in such a way that I now have a much better understanding of how and why people would follow someone to the point of suicide...At the beginning, Jone's made people who were on the periphery of society feel wanted.....As I continued to listen, I could really feel the desperation and hopelessness set in....I often asked myself while listening to this book, what would I do? what would I do? Robin Miles did a great job reading.
I really think all books are better in audio, provided the narrator is good.
This was a nice read, plain and simple
A girl aged 12 might enjoy this book. We should know the age of the people who rate books....I am 50 and it was very immature.
Great , great, story!
He brought Owen to life. I really can't imagine reading this and not listening to it.
Great book! I will read more of John Irving's books because of this one.
It was a very dull plot. I went on the reviews I read, should not have done that!
Childish! silly, boring!
Go with my gut
Very basic boring book. A waste of a credit!
The Story was historically interesting
Too many to pick just one
Each person in the story had their own voice, sometimes I forgot it was the same man reading all the characters, very well done!
All and all a great listen, mayby a bit long.
Character description was way over the top in length and vocabulary. You need a pocket dictonary while reading.
Yes, very very very slow!
I could not make it past the third chapter.
Once again, I chose this book based on good reviews, not always so...
