As a police launch speeds across Miami's Biscayne Bay - with officer Nestor Camacho on board - Tom Wolfe is off and running. Here is a big, panoramic story of the new America, as told by our master chronicler of the way we live now. Based on the same sort of detailed, on-scene, high-energy reporting that powered Tom Wolfe's previous best-selling novels, Back to Blood is another brilliant, spot-on, scrupulous, and often hilarious reckoning with our times.

Richard Delman says: "Too much. Too much. Too much. Too much. Too much."

What made the experience of listening to Back to Blood the most enjoyable?

The narration by Lou Diamond Phillips make BACK TO BLOOD superb entertainment. Tom Wolfe brought America's greatest city to life with his characters - my wife and I listened to the book for several nights, often replaying chapters as they were so interesting the second time round.

Who was your favorite character and why?

All of the characters came alive, MIAMI was the best!

What about Lou Diamond Phillips’s performance did you like?

All of his narration was a performance - please let me know if he's doing any more. He bumped prime time TV for the week!

If you could take any character from Back to Blood out to dinner, who would it be and why?

Wouldn't that be fun? I feel that I have already taken them out to dinner, Hell they were bed with my wife and I all week!

    Any additional comments?

Tom Wolfe has written the perfect pilot for a series on Miami. We were sad to come to the end, there is so much more. BRILLIANT.

Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

    Charles says: "Eh."
    "Good John Grisham entertainment"

If you could sum up The Racketeer in three words, what would they be?

Very interesting story, detailed planning, good characters, different from older Grisham novels.

What did you like best about this story?

The narration and the characters were excellent, well told story.

Which character – as performed by J.D. Jackson – was your favorite?

All the characters were good, got a bit shaky in the Caribbean.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

    Nope.

    Any additional comments?

    Was exactly what we expected.

Army Special Agent John Puller is the best there is. A combat veteran, Puller is the man the U.S. Army relies on to investigate the toughest crimes facing the nation. Now he has a new case - but this time, the crime is personal: His aunt has been found dead in Paradise, Florida.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Mr Baldacci made too many mistakes in this one - his Florida needed more research and the story was hard to finish - although we listened until the thankful conclusion.

Would you ever listen to anything by David Baldacci again?

Not sure if I could listen to another, too much like a comic book.

Have you listened to any of Ron McLarty and Orlagh Cassidy ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

First listen, the narration was OK for me although my wife did not like the voices.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Disappointment 100%

    Any additional comments?

First lemon, love the other books!
