My 5 star rating is for the book by Jane Austen...and the highly delightful reading by Kate Reading, another Audible title, which is almost 12 hours long. How can this one still be unabridged and be not quite half as long? Does this reader read faster? Stick with the Kate Reading version, because it is wonderful, compelling, funny, and definitely full-length.
You never know who will show up next on Fresh Air. One day, Terry Gross is interviewing an award-winning journalist, the next, a music legend. Within the scope of the show's mandate, there seems to be a lot of freedom for the producers to choose from an enormous range of personalities and their skills. Since I've been a subscriber, I've enjoyed listening to actors talk about their writing, authors talk about their dogs, political commentators talk about their issues, and comedians talk about their work. Just the other day, she interviewed both a puppet and his puppeteer. Insightful and researched questions bring the listener up to par on the topics quickly, and provide surprisingly in-depth perspectives from the subject.
