I am a avid Parker fan and especially the Spenser series.
I found this one to be in poor quality as far as the reader is concerned and the audio.
The story line did not keep my interest. It was almost a carbon copy of Looking for Rachael Wallace. Spenser is showing his "sensitive" side but a wee bit too sappy for me in this novel.
I will continue reading the rest of the series as I know they have great promise.
If you think David Dukes was a bad narrator wait until you listen to Daniel Parker.
He is the WORST! I hope he is not a relative to Robert B Parker, if so he needs another profession.
He makes it hard for the reader to enjoy the book and you can't tell what character is which.
If I wasn't such a big Spenser fan I would return this book. In fact I think I will anyway, that is how bad this reader is!!!
This is the first book by Parker that made me want to stop listening.
The narrarator was horrible.
No chapters, phony voices, I thought this book would never end.
I only hope that the next book is better but if Dukes is narrating it will be a total waste of time.
I have never read anything written by Nora Roberts. To be honest, I thought she was a writer of Romance novels and I am not interested.
I was quite surprised by this book. It was pretty good.
It has some mystery to it and had a interesting story line.
I will try another one of her books in the future.
I enjoyed this audiobook and Plum. I hope the rest of the series is as interesting as this one.
As you know, I am reading the Spenser series in order and this one made me laugh out loud with some of Spenser's quips.
Enjoyed this audiobook but must agree that the narrator could be better.
This narrator doesn't do Parker's audiobooks any justice.
This audiobook would make a great movie.
It has all the plots that you expect from a Clancy novel.
It was a good read and Lou Diamond Phillips is a good narrator.
I have not read Sandra Brown's books for awhile and decided to listen to this one because it was on sale. I was not disappointed.
I forgot how interesting she writes.
This audiobook had some twists and turns especially at the end which I enjoyed very much. I did not want to turn my player off, the story was that intriguing.
Will definitely listen to more of her books.
Good author, good narrator.
I am going through the Spenser series from the beginning and this one is # 13. This is is not one of my favorites so far but I love when all 3 characters, Spencer, Hawk and Susan are in the book. Makes the characters grow.
As I have started from the beginning on listening to the Spenser series, so far I have found this one to be the most entertaining.
The relationship between Hawk and Spencer is growing and I even laughed out loud at some of their dialogue.
The relationship with Susan is understandable from Spencer's side but I think she is too wishy-washy for my taste.
The only con for this review is that Parker's ending was wrapped up a little to quick IMO.
Can't wait to listen to the next one in the Spencer series.
I am reading all of the Spenser Series books in a row and Parker is good again.
This book was not a thrilling as some of his previous books but good just the same.
The narrator is OK but Burt Reynolds and Joe Mantegna are better readers.
Can't wait for the next book in the Spenser series.
