It’s been years since Abby O’Brien Winters set foot in Chesapeake Shores. The Maryland town her father built has too many sad memories and Abby too few spare moments, thanks to her demanding Wall Street career, the crumbling of her marriage, and her energetic twin daughters. Then one panicked phone call from her youngest sister brings her racing back home to protect Jess’s dream of renovating the charming Inn at Eagle Point....

I really like the book, but the narrator puts me to sleep. Her voice is so monotone and boring. Often while listening have to fight to stay awake. I hate that an enjoyable book such as this one has such an uninteresting narrator. I like how the author includes a character with ADD and how it affects their life.

One question, a split-second decision, and Brian Darby lies dead on the kitchen floor. His wife, state police trooper Tessa Leoni, claims to have shot him in self-defense, and bears the bruises to back up her tale. For veteran detective D. D. Warren it should be an open-and-shut case. But where is their six-year-old daughter? As the homicide investigation ratchets into a frantic statewide search for a missing child, D. D. Warren must partner with former lover Bobby Dodge to break through the blue wall of police brotherhood, seeking to understand the inner workings of a trooper’s mind while also unearthing family secrets.

Great book!! Great narrators!! I could not put this book down. It's my first book by Lisa Gardner and look forward to more. The plot is full of twists and turns that keep you guessing. Each time you think you know what is going to happen something changes.

LOVE, love, love the narrators! Narrators make all the difference in the world to an audiobook. So grateful for good ones!

Listen to this book and send your nonverbal intelligence soaring. Joe Navarro, a former FBI counterintelligence officer and a recognized expert on nonverbal behavior, explains how to "speed-read" people: decode sentiments and behaviors, avoid hidden pitfalls, and look for deceptive behaviors. You'll also learn how your body language can influence what your boss, family, friends, and strangers think of you.

I've never written a review before, but felt I needed to with this book. I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought it, but felt it would be worth it. It's definitely worth it. Joe Nararro is right on with the information he gives us. It is information I can use in my personal life as well as my professional life. Besides being interesting, it helps show us why people act the way they do in certain circumstances. I like the examples he gives us. Many felt the narrator was flat or monotone. I enjoyed the narrator. I thought he did a good job. This is a book I will need to listen to again as I think I missed some valuable information the first time.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Some books are meant to be read; others are meant to be heard – Water for Elephants falls into the second group, and is one of the best examples we have of how a powerful performance enhances a great story. Nonagenarian Jacob Jankowski reflects back on his wild and wondrous days with a circus. It's the Depression Era and Jacob, finding himself parentless and penniless, joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth.

I really enjoyed this book. I was unsure of it at first, but once I got into it I had a hard time putting it down. The narration was awesome. Really liked the different 2 men as the main character. I highly recommend this book.
