"Wonderful display of "six degrees of separation.""
This story reinforces the importance of treating EVERYONE you come in contact with dignity and respect. A full life is had not by proving how much better one is than another but by experiencing all the amazing talents and beauty in the people around you. So many people have amazing talents and perspectives.
Wonderful performance. I could picture the characters in her voice.
"Enjoyable story."
Find your satisfaction.
Memorable part of beautiful ruins was realizing the old producer really didn't have ANY redeeming qualities.
"Better as an audio than reading the book!"
I love McGuire's descriptive writing. Hearing the audiobook just enhanced the imagery for me.
He did an excellent job of bringing to life the descriptive writing of McGuire while also giving life and voice to the characters.
"Cliche' in a different wrapper."
Ultimately the story only reinforced cliches and negatives. Author also resorted to an excess of descriptions of sexual violence that didn't really add to the story.

It was disappointing.
"If you've been there, you understand."
I liked the author's clear understanding of a very unique life and culture; however, her writing assumed all her readers would have the experience to understand the lifestyle. I think she missed an opportunity to be even more descriptive.
I wanted more!! What happens next. What about the other characters - LaRue, etc.

Yes. I actually think it would make a good movie because what's missing in descriptions in the book could be better portrayed in a movie.
"Love! Love! Love!"
Absolutely recommend this book. Author breaks down steps to MAKE LASTING CHANGES and establish new habits into manageable pieces. Habits are more than a one day sorting project, and Andrew gives you the tools to develop good "stuff".
Dealing with stuff is more than organizing.
I love his sense of humor and seriousness both. His voice lends a personal quality. He is personally guiding you through the change process.
You are NOT your stuff.
Recommend this for anyone who needs even a little help simplifying or streamlining a busy life as well as for anyone who is ready to tackle a major life change from hoarder to freedom from stuff.
