Annabelle Peyton, determined to save her family from disaster, decides to use her beauty and wit to tempt a suitable nobleman into making an offer of marriage. But Annabelle’s most intriguing — and persistent — admirer, wealthy, powerful Simon Hunt, has made it clear that while he will introduce her to irresistible pleasure he will not offer marriage. Annabelle is determined to resist his unthinkable proposition…but it is impossible in the face of such skillful seduction.

If you like mid 19th Century romances, this won't disappoint. I thought it was very predictable. Girl of good background with noble blood meets a "Rhett Butler" type character of ignoble birth. It isn't bad it is just predictable. I prefer Lisa's more contemporary romances.

Most 16-year-old girls are obsessed with their looks, but Jazz Hooper's obsessed for a different reason. After a car accident that kills her mum, Jazz is left with severe facial scars and retreats into a dark depression. Fearing what will happen if Jazz doesn't recover, her dad makes a drastic decision to move them from England to a game reserve in Kenya for a new start. And when Jazz finds an orphaned leopard cub, it sets off a chain of events that lead her on a two-year journey of discovery, healing, and love.

Although the lead character is a 16 year old girl, I would highly recommend this book for all ages! Jazz was left horribly disfigured after a car wreck that killed her mother. After a long bout with depression her father feels that it might be best if they both move to an animal refuge in Africa. Although Jazz is unhappy in London, she doesn’t want to leave the home and all the memories that they shared with her mother. Soon after arriving in Africa, Jazz rescues an orphaned leopard cub. This is the beautifully written story of her journey.

The prim librarian is finally getting her chance to direct Avalon's annual holiday pageant, and she's determined to make it truly spectacular. But it might just require one of those Christmas miracles she's always read about. The problem is her codirector is recovering former child star Eddie Haven, a long-haired, tattooed lump of coal in Maureen's pageant stocking. Eddie can't stand Christmas, but a court order from a judge has landed him right in the middle of the merrymaking.

Italy might seem like a long way to go to hide after a disastrous date. But when sexy uberhacker Slash (no, that's not his real name) asks me to go with him to Rome on an investigation, the timing is sort of perfect. My messed-up love life becomes the least of my worries, though, after the dead body, the near-kidnapping and the discovery of a top secret encrypted file that even I can't hack.

I love this series! The Lexi character is so realistic. Geeky, unsure of herself, doesn't realize just how awesome she is! This book is a lot of fun because it takes you to Europe and the scenes with Slash and his Nonna are hilarious! I don’t know which man Lexi will end up with, but I know it will be a fun journey along the way! I can’t wait for the next one!

Reluctant lawyer, Jamie Quinn, still reeling from the death of her mother, is pulled into a game of deception, jealousy, and vengeance when her cousin, Adam, is wrongfully accused of murder. It's up to Jamie to find the real murderer before it's too late. It doesn't help that the victim is a former rock star with more enemies than friends, or that Adam confessed to a murder he didn't commit.

This series looks sharply at those who perceive themselves as the rich - the elite, and revolves around expensive cars, clothes and posh country clubs. Fans of Sue Grafton, J.A. Jance, and Sara Peretsky will find Shelton's female sleuth captivating. Devout in her dedication for the underdog, Charlie Parker gets drawn into perilous predicaments while sticking her neck out for friends and clients in trouble. She proves a wily opponent for the evil she discovers.

First of all the sound was bad, you could hear every time the narrator turned a page. The narrator could probably be better with a little practice (I noticed she hasn't narrated any other books on Audible). Her voice isn't bad, just needs to work on inflection. All this was a distraction from a very well written mystery. I kept listening because the story was interesting. Note to author or publisher - get better audio!

Before the movie, this is the novel that gave life to Hawkeye Pierce, Trapper John, Hot Lips Houlihan, Frank Burns, Radar O'Reilly, and the rest of the gang that made the 4077th MASH like no other place in Korea or on earth. The doctors who worked in the Mobile Army Surgical Hospitals (MASH) during the Korean War were well trained but, like most soldiers sent to fight a war, too young for the job. In the words of the author, "a few flipped their lids, but most of them just raised hell, in a variety of ways and degrees."

This book was a super fun listen. Yes, the story line is a bit of a reach, but it is written so well that it doesn’t matter and in fact the craziness of the plot makes it that more enjoyable. I for one have enough of real life situations and enjoy reading something that can take me away from my ordinary life. The main character is a mom and is trying to keep her marriage together which most of us can relate to, but her situations are completely crazy and so funny that it will make you laugh. If you enjoy fun, fast paced mystery, intrigue and complete escapism then this is the book for you. BTW, the narrator is absolutely FABULOUS!!!
