Sophie Dempsey wants to help her sister film a video and then get out of Temptation, Ohio. Mayor Phin Tucker wants to play pool with the police chief and keep things peaceful. But when Sophie and Phin meet, they both get more than they want. Gossip, blackmail, adultery, murder, vehicular abuse of a corpse, and slightly perverse but excellent sex: all hell breaks loose in Temptation.

I find the family of con artists in this series to be rather boring. Jennifer Crusie seems to repeat herself a lot in these books as well. If it hadn't been on sale, I would have been even more disappointed...

Bernadette Fox is notorious. To her Microsoft-guru husband, she's a fearlessly opinionated partner; to fellow private-school mothers in Seattle, she's a disgrace; to design mavens, she's a revolutionary architect, and to 15-year-old Bee, she is a best friend and, simply, Mom.

Then Bernadette disappears. It began when Bee aced her report card and claimed her promised reward: a family trip to Antarctica. But Bernadette's intensifying allergy to Seattle - and people in general - has made her so agoraphobic that a virtual assistant in India now runs her most basic errands.

Would you try another book from Maria Semple and/or Kathleen Wilhoite?

No. I'm sure a lot of people enjoyed this book as shown in the reviews. I found the mother very angry and not someone I enjoyed reading about. Once she disappeared, I liked the book a whole lot better!!! I did enjoy the young girl (her daughter), sorry I've read several books since and can't remember the daughter's name...

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The most interesting was the way the daughter stood up for her mom.
The the least interesting was the mom's character.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Kathleen Wilhoite?

    don't know

Do you think Where'd You Go, Bernadette needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    NO!!!

Laugh-out-loud funny and deeply touching, Beth Hoffman's sparkling debut is, as Kristin Hannah says, "packed full of Southern charm, strong women, wacky humor, and good old-fashioned heart." It is a novel that explores the indomitable strengths of female friendship and gives us the story of a young girl who loses one mother and finds many others.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this was such a great story and the narration was absolutely wonderful! Storytelling at its best!

What was one of the most memorable moments of Saving Ceecee Honeycutt?

I loved so many of her conversations with Oletta. One of the best quotes would be "It is what we believe about ourselves that determines how others see us."

Have you listened to any of Jenna Lamia’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to several other books narrated by Ms Lamia. She is hands down the best!!!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Yes

How did the narrator detract from the book?

    hard to follow the accent

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

With the help of 73-year-old Grandma Mazur, ex-hooker Lula, a transvestite musician named Sally Sweet, and the all-too-hospitable, all-too-sexy Joe Morelli, Stephanie might just catch her woman.

I agree with everything said about the narrator. She is a good reader; she does not sound like a 20 something girl from NJ!!! Please pair up the narrators with the characters. She definitely needs to read for a 50+ character and would do a great job as long as the subject isn't too comedic... She has great pronunciation and diction, etc. I have nothing against CJ Critt, she is just soooooo wrong for Ms. Plumb!!!!!! That said it is a good book.

Spenser earned his degree in the school of hard knocks, so he is ready when a Boston university hires him to recover a rare, stolen manuscript. He is hardly surprised that his only clue is a radical student with four bullets in his chest. The cops are ready to throw the book at the pretty blond coed whose prints are all over the murder weapon but Spenser knows there are no easy answers. He tackles some very heavy homework and knows that if he doesn't finish his assignment soon, he could end up dead.

If this was the only Nora Roberts book I had ever listened to I wouldn't listen to any others... I didn't think the narrator was as bad as some of the other reviews - she wasn't the best, but certainly not the worst I've heard. That said, the caracters in the book were vapid and the plot was non-existent! Not worth it even on sale!
