Her job: to scout for information by breaking into people's minds. For Paige is a dreamwalker, a clairvoyant, and in the world of Scion, she commits treason simply by breathing.... It is raining the day her life changes forever. Attacked, drugged and kidnapped, Paige is transported to Oxford - a city kept secret for 200 years, controlled by a powerful, otherworldly race.

What made the experience of listening to The Bone Season the most enjoyable?

The story was incredibly gripping and something completely different to anything I've ever read before, and the narration was fantastic

Who was your favorite character and why?

Warden of course, closely followed by Liss

Which character – as performed by Alana Kerr – was your favorite?

Alana Kerr was fantastic with every character (although it did take me a little while to adjust to the Irish accent after listening to the Divergent trilogy). Nashira was by no means my favourite character, but Alana captured her brilliantly.

    Any additional comments?

Before listening to this book I had heard a lot of comparisons between Samantha Shannon and JK Rowling which are completely unfair, they are completely different authors with different styles and different stories, though both are incredibly talented.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I already have! to many friends, and they have loved it too!

What did you like best about this story?

I've read the whole series now and it just gets better and better - it's intelligent, gripping and there's not even a hint f a love triangle!

Have you listened to any of Emma Galvin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I've only listened to the three Divergent books (I was lucky to get in before they stopped selling to Australia) and all three are excellent - I actually just bought Kresley Cole's Arcana Chronicles because of Emma Galvin's narration

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Throughout the trilogy there was both laughter and tears but I won't give any spoilers

    Any additional comments?

Don't go in expecting it to be the same as The Hunger Games. If, however, you like dystopian fiction like The Hunger Games and Marie Lu's Legend series you will definitely like the Divergent series.
