This book is by far one of my favorite finds on Audible. I found it while just browsing and cannot be happier. The narrator did an excellent job, it was an easy listen, and I could not put it down. I loved the story and thought it was extremely well written (not Dickens, mind you, but great all the same!). I loved it so much, that as soon as I finished with this, I immediately purchased the second book in the trilogy "Once". And, the sequel is just as good as the first. Take my advice and get this book. You will not be disappointed!

When Katie appears in the small North Carolina town of Southport, her sudden arrival raises questions about her past. Beautiful yet self-effacing, Katie seems determined to avoid forming personal ties until a series of events draws her into two reluctant relationships: one with Alex, a widowed store owner with a kind heart and two young children; and another with her plainspoken single neighbor, Jo. Despite her reservations, Katie begins to let down her guard, putting down roots in the close-knit community..

If you could sum up Safe Haven in three words, what would they be?

    Love, suspense, well-written

What was one of the most memorable moments of Safe Haven?

The ending was awesome! It was the perfect ending to an already excellent book!

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Lowman – was your favorite?

Jo was my favorite as I loved her bubbly attitude and loved how the reader preformed her accent.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The ending. All I could think was "I knew it!"

    Any additional comments?

I loved this book. Not only was it well-written, but the reader did an excellent job with the character portrayals, especially with the range of accents in the book. Cannot state how much I loved this book and wish I could read it for the first time all over again!

For the first time since she escaped from her school many months ago, Eve can sleep soundly. She's living in Califia, a haven for women, protected from the terrifying fate that awaits orphaned girls in The New America. But her safety came at a price: She was forced to abandon Caleb, the boy she loves, wounded and alone at the city gates. When Eve gets word that Caleb is in trouble, she sets out into the wild again to rescue him, only to be captured and brought to the City of Sand, the capital of The New America.

What made the experience of listening to Once the most enjoyable?

It continued the story right were the first left off with excellent narration and an even better storyline. I loved the fact that I could not wait to pick it up again and listen.

What did you like best about this story?

The entire premise of the end of the world with orphans being the repopulation vessels and essentially slaves with their impending revolution.

What about Tavia Gilbert’s performance did you like?

She is a great narrator with an exceptional ability to convey the differences in characters as well as between thought and speaking.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    The end, or the beginning?

    Any additional comments?

This book is an excellent read and I cannot wait for the third installment to be released!

Would you listen to Thirteen Reasons Why again? Why?

Yes, It was a good story and made me think about certain hot button topics

What other book might you compare Thirteen Reasons Why to and why?

I don't know. I cannot ever recall reading a book with similar content.

What about Debra Wiseman and Joel Johnstone ’s performance did you like?

I loved that they flowed together easily and their emotions and thoughts were easily identifiable.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

    Are you one of them?

    Any additional comments?

This is a great read for anyone with a connection to the recent increase in teen suicides. This is not a light read, although it seems to be geared towards teens. It is very much focused on how your actions affect others and I would say is perfect for teens involved in bullying or being bullied. All I can say is after reading this, I am definitely more conscious of my actions and those of others.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

    Story

I absolutely LOVE this book! The story is awesome and completely captivating. At times I've actually caught myself both close to tears and gasping at certain storyline twists. But, content aside, this is perhaps the best audiobook I have EVER listened to. I love that there are different narrators for different characters. The way this story is told, back and forth with different voices, I felt completely immersed in the story, as if the characters themselves are talking to me, not just a reader. If you have only one credit, there is no question this is the book you should download!
