Just As I Am, picks up where Invisible Life left off, introducing Harris's appealing and authentic characters to a new set of joys, conflicts, and choices. In this vivid portrait of contemporary black life, with all its pressures and the complications of bisexuality, AIDS, and racism, Harris confirms a faith in the power of love - love of all kinds - to thrill and to heal.

This book was very enjoyable..the characters were fully developed, it had a quick pace and having two readers was a nice change. I look forward to reading more of E Lynn Harris' books.

Julie Klam was 30, single, and working as a part-time clerk in an insurance company, wondering if she would ever meet the man she could spend the rest of her life with. And then it happened. She met the irresistible Otto, her first in a long line of Boston terriers, and fell instantly in love. You Had Me at Woof is the often hilarious and always sincere story of how one woman discovered life's most important lessons from her relationships with her canine companions.

In a host of consecutive best sellers, Jonathan Kellerman has kept readers spellbound with the intense, psychologically acute adventures of Dr. Alex Delaware. Rage offers a powerful new case in point, as Delaware and LAPD homicide detective Milo Sturgis revisit a horrifying crime from the past that has taken on shocking and deadly new dimensions.

Barbara says: "Top notch Delaware thriller!"
    "Good read, great reader"
    Overall

I Had a bit of a hard time in the beginning of the book, but kept listening. It got much better and I also came to really appreciate the reader as he helped to keep the characters seperate by his differing voices. I thought the ending dropped off a little as well, not all characters were wrapped up, but still I thought it was quite an enjoyable read.

In this novel of family and redemption, a mother struggles to save her 18-year-old daughter from the devastating consequences of mental illness by forcing her to deal with her bipolar disorder. New York Times best-selling author Bebe Moore Campbell draws on her own powerful emotions and African-American roots, showcasing her best writing yet.

Kevin says: "Very interesting book on mental health..."
    "Intense, incredible, excellant"
    Overall

This audiobook had it all. A great writer, a compelling story and a terrific reader. I agree that the subject is heavy and it was worth every minute of my time. I haven't stopped thinking about 72 Hour Hold. It has increased my compassion for parents of mentally ill children and for individuals who have mental illness or a brain disease as Ms. Campbell puts it. I highly reccomend this book.

This unprecedented audio project is as thought-provoking as it is mesmeric. The Night Listener is a meditation on the power of voices and the faith we place in them, and an extraordinary audio experience from an American literary icon.

    "Wonderful Listen, so so ending"

Armistead's voice is wonderful as is his use of language. I didn't like the ending he chose but I loved the story, I loved his voice. I want there to be a sequal...

In Tulsa, Ben Kincaid has built a national reputation as a stalwart defense attorney who will fight tirelessly for his clients. In Evanston, Illinois, Johnny Christensen has built a national reputation as a sadistic bigot who beat and stabbed a gay man and left him to die. When Johnny's mother comes to Ben and begs him to defend her son, he has one secret reason for saying no.

Marilyn Armstrong says: "Great series for lovers of courtroom dramas"
    "Engrossing, Great surprise ending"
    Overall

This was a great book. It was somewhat difficult on the front end to get all of the characters straight, in fact at times I relistened to some of the parts. Once I understood who all of the players were, I really got interested in the story.

Just when I thought I had the story all figured out, it took a surprise turn. Then I thought the story was over and it took yet another turn.

I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
