When Autobiography of a Yogi first appeared in 1946, it was acclaimed as a landmark work in its field. The New York Times hailed it as "a rare account". Newsweek pronounced it "fascinating". The San Francisco Chronicle declared, "Yogananda presents a convincing case for yoga, and those who 'came to scoff' may remain 'to pray." Today it is still one of the most widely read and respected books ever published on the wisdom of the East.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I wouldn't recommend this audiobook. I read the book once and Loved it, I didn't enjoy as much the audiobook.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Ben Kingsley?

    No

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

I read the book once and I just couldn't stop reading it. It's a nourishing book for your soul. I was kind of disappointed by the narrator, I probably just expected a different experience.

New York Times best-selling author Diana Gabaldon enchanted scores of fans with Outlander, her electrifying historical saga set in 18th-century Scotland. Now this sequel sweeps listeners back into the past as Claire relates more of her perilous sojourn there with her Scottish warrior husband, James Fraser. Twenty years after her strange journey back in time, Claire has returned to Scotland with her daughter, determined to share with her the secret she has harbored since her time travel.

What did you like best about this story?

I loved the passion of every character. This desire to keep fighting no matter what and never giving up. Nothing is too much especially when you believe in something.

Which character – as performed by Davina Porter – was your favorite?

Jamie is my favorite character. A real warrior. Davina Porter is amazing!!!! One of the best narrators I've heard until now.

    Any additional comments?

I don't think I will stop listening to this Saga until the end. You never get bored and can't wait to see what happens next. The story is fantastic but part of the success of this audiobook is the narrator, absolutely incredible!

Why we think it’s a great listen: An all-time Audible favorite that mixes historic fiction, adventure, and romance with one of the most fascinating literary devices: time travel. Outlander introduces an exhilarating world of heroism and breathtaking thrills as one woman is torn between past and present, passion and love. In 1945, former combat nurse Claire Randall returns from World War II and joins her husband for a second honeymoon. But their blissful reunion is shattered....

More than just a retelling of the legend of King Arthur, this tale is seen through the eyes of the women who wielded power behind the throne. First there is the beautiful Queen Gwynhefar, torn between duty to her king and passion for the dashing Lancelot. Then there is Morgaine, Arthur's half sister and high priestess in the enchanted land of Avalon. Morgaine's one wish is to wrest Britain away from Christianity and restore worship of the Mother Goddess. Both women struggle, suffer, and - in their own ways - triumph.
