Yes, I definitely recommend the audio version.
Odysseus visits the underworld.
A great, classic reading!
No. It's much too long and involved.
I heartily recommend his book.
Exciting, heartwarming and smart.
Yes. Swiching perspectives between the man and dog worked really well.
Ferguson constantly challenges us to think differently about historical events. He's not afraid to be politically incorrect.
Some of the current events he comments on are too recent to have a historical perspective on. No one knows yet how are present economy will play out yet.
Definitely not. I enjoyed the book very much but there's much too much information to take in in one sitting or even ten sittings.
i'd definitely recommend this book. It's a great story and very original. Ann Patchet has a way of using mythic material but in a way that feels very real. She does the most important thing an author can do. She makes you want to know what happens next. She also balances many characters but still makes each one memorable.
When Carmen finally gets the nerve to approach Gen to yeah her how to read.
I liked the reading. She added a lot to the book. My one caveot was that she seemed to have one foreign accent regardless of what language the speaker spoke.
Prisoners of Edan
It would have been better if there was some sense of character development.
Some of the early scenes in Hebrew School were fun.
Some of it was very funny, particularly the early parts but as the book became less funny, it just became an endless complaint aganst God. Seeing the world through the eyes of a nine year old can be funny but not when you are thirty, (or however old he was as an adult.) I believe most people who believe in God, even Orthodox Jews have a more sophisticated concept of Him than the auther and don't spend thier lives blaming Him for everything that goes wrong for themselves.
Mr. Auslander is a good story teller. He kept me reading till the end but he needs to grow up. He bashes God so often, he actually made me feel sorry for Him.
Yes. It's a good fast listen.
Yes although it wasn't to hard to figure where it was going.
The reading was good.
What happens to the photographer.
Mr. DeSilva has studied all the great noir mystery writers and has the style down cold. He tells a good story and has a great sense of place, Providence RI. What he doesn't have is an original voice. This sometimes has a, paint by the numbers feel. Still, it kept me listening to the end to find out what happens next.
