Dr. David Leiberman, offers insights into the human condition and reveals how, regardless of the opportunities available to us today, a lack of self-control results in poor choices and ultimately leads to negative emotions and destructive habits. If God Were Your Therapist offers neither exercises or affirmations. Rather, listeners learn how to regain self-control and move their thoughts, choices, and lives in a purposeful, powerful direction, free from the shackles of anxiety and stress.

This audiobook was great. I found myself writing down key points throughout the book while I listened. The author talks about the soul, ego, and body driving us to make decisions and how these decisions affect our self esteem and quality of life. This is not mystical or the usual self-help junk that you get from other books. The advice/info seems like no-nonsense common sense to me, getting to the root of the issues. I will note that I am not very religious and still enjoyed the book. There are some places that get heavy into God and Adam and Eve and forgiveness and I just took it for what it was. I may not agree with the author’s beliefs about religion, but it didn’t distract from what I got out of the book. Definitely worth a listen.

  • Twisted Triangle: A Famous Crime Writer, a Lesbian Love Affair, and the FBI Husband's Revenge

Twisted Triangle is the first complete narrative thriller about the sensational story of Margo Bennett, a married FBI agent who had a love affair with best-selling author Patricia Cornwell and whose jealous husband, Gene Bennet, a superstar FBI undercover agent, kidnapped and attempted to murder her.

    Overall

If you are looking for a thrilling story of cunning and intelligent FBI agents caught up in a twisted love triangle that turns bad, then look again. Maybe because this story takes place in the 1980s and socially things are different now, but instead of keeping me on the edge of my seat, it keeps me sitting back thinking "How dumb can they be?" and "What is wrong with these people?" I do sympathize with the main character because of what she went through, but I can not believe a trained FBI agent could make so many mistakes. If you find out that your husband, an undercover FBI agent who excels in living a double life for his job and getting into harm's way and dealing with dangerous people, wants to scam the FBI for money and is working with one of his informants in a shady "jewelry business", you should then question his sanity and morality, not after he kidnaps you. The only thing this has going for it is that it is a true story otherwise, with the narrator's delivery, it comes off as a cheesy movie of the week.

In 1865 Boston, the members of the Dante Club, poets and Harvard professors Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Dr. Oliver Wendell Holmes, and James Russell Lowell, along with publisher J. T. Fields, are finishing America's first translation of The Divine Comedy and preparing to unveil Dante's remarkable visions to the New World.

I have listened to this audiobook many times. The story is interesting and the narrator is great. I have no idea of how historically accurate any of the information is, but I enjoy it as a novel. Highly recommended.

Take a "fantastic voyage" through the whorls and curves of the human brain, no miniaturization required. Learn everything from how quickly you can possibly think (and that left-handed people think faster) to why being bad feels so good (yes, there's a biochemical explanation).

I was disappointed with this book. I have not listened to all of this yet and I have mixed feelings. The subject is interesting but it is poorly written. It is broken into sections, the frontier, cocktail party tidbits, and maybe something else, which makes this difficult to follow and delve into the information. The author attempts to be witty and make the subject matter fun and this takes away from the enjoyment of listening to the audiobook. The jokes are not funny or clever and there are way too many to deal with. Someone should have been a little more heavy-handed with the editing.
