"Good Book, Bad Audiobook"
I use my audiobooks to help get through the bored of work. Listening to the reader do old men voices the whole time was a boring chore. The story is great and an interesting way to tell a story. I thought it would give me insight in the SyFy show Haven, but it has nothing to do with the show. I would read the book not listen to this reading.
"Good but Not the Same"
Ghost Story is good continuation of the Dresden Files. However, it does feel like one of the weaker stories in the series. I can't say the ending or the story was that full of a surprise to me but the very end of the book does excite me for the next book in the series.
I feel the biggest let down is the switch to John Glover as reader. James Marsters has be the reader for 13 books when you include the short stories. The way he reads the story and the way he presents Dresden is now linked so much to the audiobook book series. As audiobook listener of the series John Glover can't deliver what I expect from the the audiobook. The switch would be similar to a new writer stepping in to replace Jim Butcher. No matter the talent of the replacement they change is clear and desecrating to the story. John Glover does a great reading but it feels like a different story then the one I've listened to for so long.
"Less than interesting story"
Michelle Ryan reads it well but the story isn't as interesting as I had hoped. Not as gripping as some other Doctor Who stories on Audible.
"Best Version"
I think this is the best LOTR version out there. They did a pretty good job with keeping to most of the story. The Actors made it a joy to listen.
"It Sucked Me In"
Not something I would normally read but Audible suggested during a sale s I gave it a chance. DAM YOU AUDIBLE! When I finally got around to listening, I some how got sucked into it and was buying the series without my credits. I think the books are geared more to women than heterosexual men I have no problem saying I loved them. I always want to say Lorelei King deserves a lot of credit for making this a good book to listen too.
"Really Enjoyed It"
My title says it all for me. The story is really good and read well. Having got sucked into this series, it was a nice to have a location change and to have a First Nation aspect.
"Good but Not the Best Either"
It good but I thought the actors and there editing was rather poor. I heard LOTR from the BBC before listing to this one. The actors in LOTR came across clear and easy to hear. In the Hobbit's case, they talked over each other and it was hard to clearly understand what is said. I think this version is good but it could have been a lot better.
"Good Story"
You may want to get the novella from Amazon that takes place just before the story starts. It's not completely necessary but it adds a lot to the story I think. The read is good but I did find his Charlies voice to be a little annoying by the end of the book. The story is strong very entertaining. I found it hard to stop listening.
