USA Today best-selling author Amanda Ashley has been crafting fan-favorite vampire romances for over 25 years. In Bound by Night, the Wolfram estate is a crumbling wreck of its former glory. Once featured in a horror film, it is said to be haunted by all manner of paranormal spooks. But Elena doesn’t believe any of that nonsense and decides to spend the night there anyway. Imagine her surprise when she awakes in the arms of a vampire - the most beautiful man she’s ever seen.

    Story

I've read a lot of Amanda Ashley books over the years, and really enjoyed them. But this book just fails to deliver. The story is okay, but I wouldn't waste your time if you have another choice.

For one, the story keeps wandering, from the issue of Elena and her uncle, to that of Drake and the vampires, and Drake and Elena. Then the author keeps adding little sub plots, such as Andre and Katya, and Stefan, and Elena & Verdine.

But there seems to be a lack of emotion in all of this, even though the author tells you Elena is upset, you watch Drake in pain, etc. It's just too bland. The reader doesn't help, but the story itself brings down the performance.

If you want to continue enjoying Amanda Ashley's books, don't listen to this one.

A hired gunslinger, William Jessup Brady lived his life with one foot in the grave. He believed that every life had a price. Until the day when he finally found a reason to live. In one single act of brutal betrayal, he lost everything, including his life. Brought back by a Greek goddess to be one of her Dark-Hunters, he gave his immortal soul for vengeance and swore he’d spend eternity protecting the humans he’d once considered prey.

Don't get me wrong -- I loved the book, and really enjoy the Dark Hunter series. However, I felt a little let down when the end came, having expected more from the build up of the story. The story of Buffalo, Butterfly, Coyote and Wren was intriguing -- however, I felt in the end as if it was unresolved in the bigger story of the book, with only the disclaimer that more would be expected in time to come.

Also, the main theme of the Dark Hunter books was almost skipped over here, with various forays into the realm, and yet kind of like swiss cheese. I wish Ms. Kenyon had written a longer book, where everything was more part of the whole, and not so many scenes strung together.

Hopefully, she plans to pull this together in a further story down the road, but I have my doubts. And, I will say, the bonus at the end of the book was great!

Unfortunately, I couldn't get far enough into the book to determine if the story itself was worth reading. The narrator just ruined the book for me. There are good narrators, excellent narrators, and then there is this narrator, who just was reading words with no excitement. Save your money.

The Prince's Waitress Wife, Holly, makes you chuckle as she befriends everyone she meets, and soon knows their life story. Not only that, but her lush figure is made much of, giving those not inclined to reed thin, to feel better about themself. Caspar is a great foil for Holly, and she leads him on a merry chase! This is a special, light-hearted romance, sure to brighten your rainy day blues, or to snuggle up to in front of a warm fire!

Twenty years later, Alina is dead and Mac has returned to the country that expelled them to hunt her sister’s murderer. But after discovering that she descends from a bloodline both gifted and cursed, Mac is plunged into a secret history: an ancient conflict between humans and immortals who have lived concealed among us for thousands of years.

I loved the book, it truly delivered! And then, as much as I wanted to know how it would end, I am so sad it's ended.

What a great read -- there was a villain, there were all sorts of twists and turns, there was a happy ending, but realistic, based on the story, greed, lust -- lots of that -- and many shades of grey! Karen Marie Moning truly delivered, and I can't wait for her next book!

When I listened to a sample of this book, and read the blurb, it sounded interesting. However, the book dragged for me and just did not hold up. But, some might like it. It depends on what you enjoy, and how much action you want in a book.

After listening to Delicious, I was looking forward to this other book by Sherry Thomas, and hoping for another enjoyable book! In this, I was not disappointed.

Ms. Thomas' use of flashbacks is very well incoporated into the story line and her characters have depth. The descriptions are vividly portrayed and the characters, with all their foibles, are truly brought to life.

Delicious presents Verity Durant, an irresistible woman of a more elegant age. Verity is renowned from London to Paris for her succulent cuisine - and for her rapacious carnal appetite. And she's determined to tempt prim and proper politician Stuart Somerset with forbidden fruits he's never tasted.

This was a fun book! I really enjoyed the descriptions of food, and learning how food was prepared over 100 years ago is an eye opener. The story was interesting, including the flashbacks. However, the romance was a little improbable, certainly very Cinderella! Overall, a very intriguing novel, with a fresh viewpoint. Looking forward to Ms. Thomas next book!
