Not finished with the book yet. The story is good so far but the different voices are distracting...
After listening to Carolyn McCormick for 10 books, it was very disappointing to have a new narrator. All of the characters voices are different that what I am used to hearing. I can no longer tell who is speaking just by the voice I have to wait until the narrator says its Lindsay or Cindy.
I enjoyed this book so much. The sex scenes were hot!!!
My favorite aspect of this book was how the author switched back and forth writing in the womans point of view, then changing and writing from the mans prospective. That was wonderful, and the difference in the sex scenes because of this was refreshing. I will be looking for more books by this author and hopefully they are just as good.
This book was so amazing.. Yes it was long but you just have to keep with it. I like to listen to multiple books at once, in different genres. That comes in handy with a book as long as this one. Sometimes the book seems overwhelming and rather than give up, I would just take a break and listen to something else for a while, sometimes I would go a few days before getting back to it. But I am so glad that I kept up with the story it was so compelling, I didn't want it to end. And I haven't bought the second book yet so I was glad that there was a free preview at the end of this book because I wasn't sure that I wanted to buy the next one. Now that I have listened to the preview I will be buying that book as soon as my credits come through.
The love scenes were nice and tasteful....
I would call them sex scenes but it seems more apt to call it love scenes. A lot of the books that I normally listen to are more on the erotic side so those I call sex scenes. The ones in the book weren't as bold as I'm used to but they were good nonetheless, and it didn't detract from the story.
Some people think that time travel is too far-fetched to make a good story...
That is not the case here, I pondered over this book for months debating with myself about getting it. This book is not some crazy back to the future type... Just give it a try, you won't regret it...
I love the Antia Blake series, and the previous narrator was excellent. This Cynthia Holloway is terrible. The voices themselves aren't too bad but she doesn't give Jean-Claude and Asher their french accents. She doesn't pronounce some of the key words that are said alot throughout the book such as ardeur. Her mispronounciations take away from the book, when you are sucked into a story and she keeps saying words wrong over and over, it brings you out from the story and takes away from the perfomance.
I can't wait to get through these next few books so that I can get back to the regular narrator. I really miss her.
I loved all the Fever books!
Even though there was a narrarator switch in the middle of the series I ended up liking Mac better without the southern accent.
Barrons is my favorite always my favorite character, even though he can make you want to pull your hair out with frustration.
I enjoyed this book as much as the rest although I wish there would have been more romance between Mac and Barrons, it seemed to be cramed in at the end... But the book was still fantastic. Hopefully there will be another book that centers on those two.
