    Sunshine State trivia buff Serge A. Storms loves eliminating jerks and pests. His drug-addled partner Coleman loves cartoons. Hot stripper Sharon Rhodes loves cocaine, especially when purchased with rich dead men's money. On the other hand, there's Sean and David, who love fishing and are kind to animals - and who are about to cross paths with a suitcase filled with $5 million in stolen insurance money. Serge wants the suitcase. Sharon wants the suitcase. Coleman wants more drugs... and the suitcase.

    What would have made Florida Roadkill better?

    This sequence of missteps from very unfortunate characters, I think, is supposed to be funny. Save your time. The plot is limited, the characters are transparent.


    Would you ever listen to anything by Tim Dorsey again?

    Unlikely.


    How did the narrator detract from the book?

    Not at all.


    If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Florida Roadkill?

    It would be easier to determine which one or two to keep.

    This is not for everyone. If you read other authors (Dr. Fuhrman, for example) mushrooms are one of the best foods you can add to your diet. The Youngs advocate removing them from your diet. When you have experts disagreeing, where do you turn for more information?

    Very much in the style of L. Frank Baum (The Wizard of Oz), this story shows that Harry Potter was not the first remarkably popular world hit in junior literature. A Kidnapped Santa Claus, a fun fantasy, is actually a continuation of the first novel Baum wrote in this vein, The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus. In it, he charts his hero's life from a foundling in the forest to becoming all children's favorite uncle. This story, though, has the advantage of brevity.

    Where does A Kidnapped Santa Claus (from the Naxos Audiobook 'A Family Christmas') rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    Along with Christmas music and wrapping paper, the Chrismas season should have a read or "listen" of a few seasonal selections. The book is very imaginative.


    Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    This is a short story originally published in a magazine in 1904. It takes less than half an hour to hear it all.
