Undeterred by world war and enemy submarines, Amelia Peabody, grandmaster Elizabeth Peters' indomitable archaeologist-sleuth, once again sets sail for Egypt, where ghosts of an ancient past and specters of a present-day evil hover silently over an inscrutable land.

    Nancy says: "Unabridged is unacceptable"
    "Don't buy abridged!"

This series to too good to cut :-) I bought the 3 Amelia Peabody books Audible had available only as abridged, and then had to hunt down and purchase the Unabridged versions elsewhere.

For Francesca Day, it's not the end of her world, but close to it. She's London-bred, wealthy, and sophisticated, but fate leaves her flat broke and stranded on a back road in Texas. Now she's got to deal with reality without her rich girl props. How can she do it? In Dallas Beaudine, gritty and handsome, lies the answer. He stops his car to help Francesca, whose life needs a tune-up, as well as her car. Stopping could lead to the biggest mistake, or best time, ever.

I really enjoy character growth, and Francie certainly grows! Given her beginnings, that's a really good thing. I enjoyed the humor that accompanied it.
Not the first book I've read in this series and decided to go back to beginning.
