As with any information now days I tend to be skeptical. Throughout my life news media taught me to be this way by misrepresenting the truth. The book contains a lot of history about the Arab people. A lot of intelligence the author says is true based on the intelligence his company has gathered. Some of the things he is talking about in the book (written in 2004) are coming to fruition recently. It's fascinating stuff. If you are interested in the Afghanistan and Iraq wars at all it is worth your time to listen to. Enjoy!
I didn't enjoy this one so much. The computer part lacked plausibility. The characters responded casually to things like nuclear threats and impending war with other Countries. The book makes our military sound unprofessional using slang for everything, and witty remarks in crisis situations. Not very plausible. And the F bomb, get ready for it, dropped many more times than military bombs in the book. Gd this, Gd that, the language sounded like a disgruntled teenager. This is only my 2nd Clancy book, I'm not very impressed.
The story line is good, a bit gory at times but fascinating. The language is adults only, I sent an email over to audible asking for a version without the F Bomb and GD every few seconds. Hard to listen to with young ears around.
An awesome audio book! I highly recommend the audio version or get it in addition to the written book. To hear Joel Osteen read it in person really helps as you can pick up on the tone and feeling he is trying to convey. The topics covered and advice in this book will benefit everyone. Is your life in a mess? Can't figure out why things aren't working for you? This book has the answers for you. Enjoy!
With the title of Complete Idiot's Guide I was expecting more (or any)explanations of the Spanish language. More like the For Dummies books. Things like is it based on Latin? How does it compare to english? Are there easy shortcuts knowing english you use in spanish? What is the origin of the spanish language? How about a list of words that are similar in both languages.
Nada, nothing, it just goes right in to Lolita is at the airport, may I see your passport? I was very disatisfied with the audio book.
