Terry Pratchett weaves his usual "magic" and makes it hard to stop listening. You are engaged right from the start with a wealth of interesting and frequently unusual characters. This third book in this series is the first one I have listened to and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is full of humour and complications with nothing dull or ordinary to spoil your enjoyment.
This age old favourite by Jane Austin is always pleasing. The characters are well drawn and interesting. The main character, Emma may be, " handsome, clever and rich" and have an exceptionally pleasant lot in life but she has some important lessons to learn.
Humility and being less judgmental of those around her are two for a start and then there is her profound belief that she is a matchmaker without exception!
Many of her views on those she believes beneath her station or attention might be held to be unacceptable today. However, at the time the book was written her views would have been considered quite correct and "proper" for a young lady born in her circumstances. For all her failings it must be said that she has a good heart and luckily for her she has Mr Knightly as her conscience and guardian angel so all ends happily.
I like Jenny Agguter but in this instance the speed at which she read the book was disappointing and had I not known the story so well I might have had to re-listen in some sections. Hence the 4 stars for performance.
Tiffany undertakes numerous tasks in her own quiet and efficient way while facing an unseen enemy. New friends and old favorites are to be found in this intriguing and delightful story.
This was an easy book to listen to. The plot was fairly predictable but none the less enjoyable. Did not stretch the intellect but good to listen to after a hard day.
The narrators had a pleasant voices that were easy to listen to. The story was intricate and a second listen would help to understand some of the points more clearly. Also enjoyed listening so hearing it again would not be a problem.
The whole plot was intricate and thought provoking.
The main alien character was fascinating.
There are Aliens and they believe GOD exists. He's just not the all benevolent being we think he is!
Would recommend this book to others to read and certainly to listen to.
In the top 10 so far. Excellent. Just a bit long to listen to!
The way the reality of the situation faced by someone in this situation was portraid.
