While Maeve's sister Kate does a good job at telling the story, the story itself isn't Maeve's finest. It feels like a rough draft which needs a fair bit of polish.
As I have read every Maeve Binchy book, I don't think I would listen to another.
I don't think the characters themselves were very well written.
At points I was sad but overall, everything was ho hum.
The story is really well written - giving the reader/ listener most of the pieces of the story but not everything so you wonder how things will end. Very well done. So many layers to this story that you didn't know what was coming next.
The scene in the mall when the reader finds out about the relationship between the main character and her "sister" and is given a much better understanding of why the main character acts the way she does.
I love this reading by Catherine Taber. She reads with such passion. I could listen to her all day.
What's in my pockets?
The story, the characters and the narrator are fabulous. Love the narrator's accent and passion as she brings to life the characters and the scenes. I felt like I was there experiencing everything first hand.
The main character is outstanding - really well written and very strong believable woman.
Rebecca brings the characters to life - wonderful accents and personality.
In parts I laughed in others, I held my breath until I found out what was going to happen next.
