But boy was it worth the wait. The stride that Butcher hits around book 3 continues here. I would be surprised if anyone could listen this to this book and not find themselves laughing out loud while getting sucked into another great adventure from the worlds second most famous wizard named Harry. It is going to be a long seven months waiting for book 6!

I tore through both books in this series in a matter of days. It has been a long time since I have listened to anything quite as engaging as this series. My overall impression of Mr. Rothfuss is that the guy is clearly one very smart dude and doesn't mind everyone knowing it.

It did have a couple slow points for me but it never quite slipped into boring.

I can not wait for book 3!!!

If you are one of the lucky people who found this gem before it's resurgence and 2nd printing but have been putting off getting the audio version stop reading this and just buy it already....

For the rest of you:

I loved the audio version but seriously read a physical copy of the thing first. This is just one of those books that will be better if you can put it down and really think about the insanity that you just read from time to time.

If you are already into the world of Eddie Lacrosse then sit back and enjoy another great story. I love the way his world is unfolding book by book. The time spend on the water in this book is a lot of fun for those of us who enjoy a good pirate tale as well.
