    "The slowest start ever"
    Overall

If you skip the first half it is a great book. Stephen King was always a slow starter but in this book I was not able to concentrate for long hours. The second half is King in his best.

Behind the closed doors of San Fransisco's grandest mansions, beautiful people party the nights away in a heady mix of money, drugs, drink, and sex. But the rich and famous aren't the only ones with the keys to these most exclusive of addresses; someone else is intent on crashing the party. A rock star, a fashion designer, a software tycoon, and a millionaire heiress: Each is glamourous, stunningly attractive and incredibly rich, but their similarities don't end there. They have something else in common too. They are all dead.

It doesn't mean it has no quality. It means that the story is build like a soap opera. The difference is that the actors in my mind play well. If you want a relaxing read for girls go for it. Otherwise, you should choose something different.

    Overall

After The Stand I doubted I will ever read Stephen King again. I tried it and it was worth the money. The plot could look familiar but the idea behind it is really original. I felt tense till the last second and I appreciated the way how the book ended. Thumb up! Try it.

This is my 3rd book from David Rosenfelt I already read. I know the style, I know the humor and he is still entertaining me. I am looking forward for his other novel.

For the wise-cracking millionaire defense attorney suffering from "lawyer's block", the case looks like a no-brainer...until the cops pick up another suspect: Andy's lead P.I., Laurie Collins, who happens to be the love of his life.

    "You will not stop listening"
    Overall

I listen books only in my car. I do not have time during days nor evenings. This time it was different. I wasn't able to stop. I came to work and waited long minutes till the end of a chapter. Finally I dowloaded the book in my iPod and finished it during my mail reading. The book is so good that I bought all the books from the author immediately. If you like good stories this book is for you.

Devil May Care will be published in May 2008 to celebrate the Centenary of Ian Fleming's birth. This new instalment in the adventures of the world's most iconic spy has been written by one of Britain's most admired novelists, Sebastian Faulks.

Phelix_da_Kat says: ""Old School" Bond is back"
    "This is not an evolution"
    Overall

James Bond. He is the icon of all the spies. Everybody knows the gadgets, the style and the womanizing charm. Author tried to continue in Fleming's novels and this try is successful. The thing is that there is nothing new. When you read this book you understand the approach of the moviemakers. Move Bond to 21st century is a clever way how to keep him alive. This book is a residue of ancient times. It is a visit of the Cold war but from today's perspective all the described Russian - British problems look a bit distant. If you look for a sequel of Fleming's work it is book for you. If you search for a modern spy thriller look another direction.
