I'm a Connelly fan - but this book did not work for me. It does have some good moments and keeps your interest but it is not a gratifying listen. Mickey Haller is mentioned in this book and I wholeheartedly recommend that series.
James Dickey takes you down the river. When you are done, you will be battered, bruised, broken and in awe. Will Patton was spot on. The movie is for the timid - listen to this book.
This is well done - by Flynn and by the narrators. It is over the top at times but it kept my interest. Great twists and turns but there's not a redeeming character to be found.
Shackleton is one of my heroes and this book is the reason. I have read twice it and listened to it once. Simon Prebble is the perfect narrator and takes the listener all the way to the Antarctic.
Even as we learn about the flaws and failures of these men we see their courage and their will to survive. You will be amazed - listen to this book. Should be required reading!
I love this series and I'm pacing myself. I honestly wish they were longer. Guidall is the perfect voice for these characters that call the Powder River home.
I know many enjoyed this book - but didn't work for me. The story (mystery) was not compelling and characters were dull. Try 'Term Limits' or other Vince Flynn is you like assassinations and helicopters.
This book is full of complex and interesting characters - good and bad. Great story - you can sense that Woods had a personal connection with this early work. This book was written in 1981 but it holds up. Credit worthy - yep!
Great story, great characters and excellent narration. Give it a try - wise use of a credit.
I liked the story - moves fast. It's a bit quirky but entertaining. If you find yourself sometimes cheering for the bad guys you should give this one a 'shot'.
Maybe, I just don't get it but this is the second Reacher book that I thought was just mediocre. The story was slow and boring and the bad guys were not believable. I tried but I could not get into the story. I would say pass on this one.
This is not a light read but it is engrossing and educational. Personally, I thought Ray Porter did an excellent job. It's hard to find a character that you like but all are multi-dimensional and exotic. This is my first Winslow book and I will do some research a try another one. It's not a feel good story but it is worth a credit.
