Detective Michael Bennett arrests an infamous Mexican crime lord in a deadly chase that leaves Bennett's lifelong friend, Hughie McDonough, dead. From jail, the prisoner vows to rain epic violence down upon New York City - and to get revenge on Michael Bennett. To escape the chaos, Bennett takes his 10 kids and their beautiful nanny, Mary Catherine, on a much-needed vacation to his family's cabin near Newburgh, New York. But instead of the calm and happy town he remembers, they step into a nightmare.

If you want to listen to a book that ends with no resolution then this is the book for you.

If you want to listen to a book that actually has a resolution and you aren't left hanging at the end then don't buy this book. It was a great story until the end when it stopped. Seriously doesn't James Patterson have enough money (he writes and co-writes so many books I can't count them)? Instead he leaves this book (in my opinion) in the middle. This book could have been so good if he finished it and resolved the final showdown instead of waiting and making people buy another one to see what happens to Michael Bennett. I for one am done with James Patterson.

From coast to coast, the nation is witnessing a new wave of terror - suicide bombers incite blind panic and paralyzing fear, a flight attendant tries to crash an airliner, a police officer opens fire on fans in a stadium, and at CIA headquarters, a deputy director goes on a murderous rampage. The perpetrators appear to be American but are actually covert agents in a vast network of terror, selected and trained for one purpose only: the complete annihilation of America.

Lots of fast moving action. Very like able characters who aren't perfect machines which makes the tension even better. Great series. On to book #3 in the series.

The body of 92-two-year-old Jossi Goldberg, Holocaust survivor and American citizen, is found shot to death execution style in his house near Frankfurt. A five-digit number is scrawled in blood at the murder scene. The autopsy reveals an old and unsuccessfully covered tattoo on the corpse's arm - a blood type marker once used by Hitler's SS. Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein are faced with a riddle. Was the old man not Jewish after all? Who was he, really?

The third book in the series did not disappoint. Great seat of your pants action from start to finish. I am so glad I found this series and I am looking forward to the next. This rates right up there with Vince Flynn, Brad Thorn and Mark Greaney.

In the LAPD's Open-Unsolved Unit, not many murder victims die almost a decade after the crime. So when a man succumbs to complications from being shot by a stray bullet nine years earlier, Bosch catches a case in which the body is still fresh, but all other evidence is virtually nonexistent. Now Bosch and rookie Detective Lucia Soto, are tasked with solving what turns out to be a highly charged, politically sensitive case.

Michael Connelly once again writes a great story. The characters are well done and plot is intriguing. That being said, the narration was so horrific that I almost called my doctor for a Prozac prescription to get through the depressing narration. Titus Welliver made ZERO attempt to distinguish one character from another and his delivery was so dead pan that I almost gave up. Get this one on Kindle or buy the actual book folks.
