"The Highlander's Touch"
Time Travel Romance
Circenn and Lisa's reunion. It would make a great movie.
Circenn, loved the accent.
Both. It is a very emotional story, especially when Lisa got her family back.
Wish there were more stories like this one.
"Fire Me Up"
Captivating, Funny, Sweet
When Drake agreed to give up the sept to save Aisling and admitted he loved her.
If I had to pick one, I would choose Jim. You have to love the character, even if it sometimes can make you want to send it to "Abaddon." I also loved Drake because I am half Hungarian and love his voice and mannerisms.
The title suits the dragon theme. Leave it alone.
Love the series. I hope there are more books that include Drake and Aisling.
"Inner Harbor"
I first read the story of the Quinn's a few years ago. I wanted to hear Philip's story on audio to decide whether to buy the other books. I have never visited the Chesapeake Bay area, but the book makes you feel like you would love to live there.
All the Quinn books are great and I would relate them to many of Nora Roberts series' books. They are easy to read and pulls you in to the story. If I would compare this book to another author, I would say either Catherine Coulter or Suzanne Brockmann.
The narrator was good. He was very fluent and was confident in his speaking. It would have been better if they had added a female narrator for the ladies' voices. It would have made listening more memorable.
On a weekend day, I would like to sit back and listen. Otherwise, I would take it a chapter at a time.
"Kiss of the Highlander"
The story was well thought out and the characters were believable. The ending of the book made me want to read the next book in the series.
I loved all the characters, especially Drustan and Dageus. Gwen was my favorite female character and I look forward to reading about her again.
Hearing it read with a Scottish accent made it seem like you were there in the story.
Time permitting, I would listen to it and have my book open at the same time. It makes it easier to visualize the action. It is not as great as watching it as a movie, but it is still memorable.
This audio book needs to employ both a male and a female narrator. Most women can't sound like men and most men can't sound like women, so partner up. That it why I can't give the performance 5 stars. Phil has a great voice for the male voices, but a woman needs to read the female dialogue. It sounds more believable and it will sell more books. I know I would buy more if the change would be made.
"Spell of the Highlander"
Yes. I love the story.
When Cian threw the mirror down the stairs, knowing that it would break and that he would die. What a sacrifice! Thank you for allowing him to live.
I love the Scottish accent.
When Cian was yelling at Dageus to go find Jessica, who had been left behind, it really showed how much Cian loved her. It also reminded Dageus how much he loved Chloe. It was a very emotional moment.
It would be great if they could redo the audio book with a female narrator and a male narrator. I love Phil, but adding a real female would make the feminine characters sound believable.
"Dark Highlander"
Get a Kleenex.
I would compare Dark Highlander to any of the other Highlander books in the Moning series. I wish they could make them into a movie.
1. Chloe defending herself from Giles. 2. Dageus saving Chloe from Simon and the Draghar by sacrificing himself.3. Chloe and Dageus reunion at the end. Wish there had been a reunion with Drustan and Gwen.4. Silvan and Nellie's "wedding."So many more........
Both. Extremely exciting.
My only negative about the audio version is that I wish that there had been a female narrator, too. I have nothing against Phil, but it would be easier to listen to a book when you have a real female voice to offset the male, especially in a romance story. This goes for all audio books with both male and female characters.A good example of this is the audio book by Christine Feehan, Dark Slayer. I would buy it in an instant because there are both a male and female narrator. It was great!Think about it.
