I really liked the story. I would listen to it on my way to and from work and would find myself wishing my commute was longer.
The story was fun and engaging enough even between action scenes.
The first time I tried to listen to it, I gave up after the first 30 minutes. I found the story to be slow and I couldn't get over the reader's voice. After giving it a second try, and getting used to the reader, I found the story to be engaging and am glad I gave it a second chance. I am also glad there is a sequel.
The story ideas and concepts in the book where interesting and fun, and my imagination started going crazy with possibilities when they were introduced. The author never seemed to bring all the pieces together to make the story engaging enough. Many of the main characters were easy to forget and I felt a sense of relief the book was over instead of a longing to know more about what will happen next in their life.
The reading of the book is very well done. I found the voice, accent, energy, and pacing to be very pleasant.
While I got this book to listen to during my daily commute, I found myself wanting to listen to it after I got home.
I found that from time to time the excitement and tone of the reader didn't match the context of the story, which threw me out of the story.
